As I understand it, he prefers a flavour of soft drink which many people find unsatisfactory compared to the classic flavour.

We're really going to do this again? You got comprehensively outlawyered last time.

Yep. People can be defamed if it is the truth. Fact. Defaming is not libel. Kibel is false statement that defames.
libel
ˈlʌɪb(ə)l/
noun
  1. 1.
    LAW
a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation.
Libel legal definition of libel - Legal Dictionary - The Free Dictionary
legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/libel
Libel is the written or broadcast form of defamation, distinguished from slander which is oral defamation. It is a tort (civil wrong) making the person or entity (like a newspaper, magazine or political organization) open to a lawsuit for damages by the person who can prove the statement about him/her was a lie.

Haha at the reductionism and dictionary definitions.

How about you explain the legal process of how such "truth" is established and make a case why someone would put themself through it for the sake of satiating the curiosity of some anonymous people on an Internet forum.

You're being silly, plain and simple.

The continuing efforts by a few posters to taunt and goad people into saying more than they are comfortable with is still amusing though. Maybe the 247th attempt will do the trick!

Which totally gives a leader the right to be an off-field and locker room shambles yeah?

Petroro has been shopping him all over the joint (same thing he was doing in 2013) and no one is biting because his value assessment isn't exactly sensible. Now he's suddenly got "Lions blood coursing through his veins" and implicitly dumping all the negativity surrounding him right on Leppa's front porch. He's pathologically unable to take stock of his own behaviour. The cultivation of the image of a loyal, passionate clubman and leader that would die for the jumper is mighty impressive for a guy who is very much all about himself. 800k a year... **** off.

I've had enough of this rubbish. Disinfect the joint NobFag.
Actually he said he has "lions coursing through his veins", which I can't help thinking is a typo

Yep. The thing is that as someone who has been reading TheBrownDog on Big Footy for years now and also as someone who has been on the opposite side of the fence on a number of debates (probably more often than not), I know that the sentiments expressed above are not expressed lightly or without serious thought and background. It would not be fair to flick Leppitsch and then excuse the conduct of some of senior players like Rockliff and Hanley. Under Leppitsch they exuded a "TOO BIG TO FAIL" attitude (just think of the conduct of Australia's "Big Four banks") that translated into an appalling lack of team orientation and an arrogance in relation to younger players. I don't know what he is like as a bloke, but they were comprehensively shown up this year by Mitch Robinson, a player who turned up and had an honest crack, showing inspirational commitment, week in and week out.

Frustrated definitely but not with any single poster. Yes, i'd like to know 'cause usually with players that clubs kick out there are reports of actual problems plastered throughout the media - Mitch Robbo is an example. If i had un-provable information I wouldn't want to publish in a forum either, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't bang on about it continually. If he is a problem I'm sure he will be gone over the next few weeks for whatever they can get. The new team have made it very clear that players must meet team standards or they will be moved on asap.

Would make for a pretty one-sided "Is Rocky the Right Man for the Job" thread.

I don't think he is and have said so, and given as much info as I am happy with, as have others. Period.

The constant demands for more information from some posters may have falsely painted a "I know something you don't know" dynamic that isn't actually there.

Can someone please shed more light on all these rumours? It's been weeks of 'Rockliff does terrible things that we can't tell you about'. I would wager that some of the posters making these claims would call out other posters who did the same.

No doubt. People have a right to be curious - its absolutely understandable. They aren't entitled to have it totally satisfied though. Especially as the provision of more information would no doubt lead to demands for more information, detail, proof, names of sources etc. It's never ending.

Sounds like he has shopped himself around and nobody wants him. Looks like we might be stuck with him.

Worst possible result. I'm at the point where I'd be happy for the club to either take unders at the trade table or pay part of his salary in order to lubricate a move.

Could nobody wanting Rockliff help change his attitude or is it all just too much to overcome?

How ****ed is it that we will probably trade Rockliff for unders and we paid top $$ for Fevola who IMO was more damaged.

I reckon he could do fine at a new club with strong leadership (which he should absolutely not be part of) and culture where he would be a new recruit having to prove himself again. He's grown too big for our small pond.

Surely if he stays the club and newly appointed officials would be confident of turning him around and significantly improving his output/attitude going forward.

Is it really that bad that there is simply no turning back now?

Edit: BB beat me to it

Wow! He really must be a cancer at our club at the moment.

I just really struggle to believe he's that bad when supporters want him gone more than his own team mates. The way you talk TBD is as if he's burning down the club from the inside out. I really struggle to find where such a strong opinion against him has come from. Should he be captain? From what I've heard definitely not but kicking him out completely?

The level of vitriol you seem to have towards Rocky almost seems personal. Even those who seem privy to the same information as you have not come out swinging as much as you have. You can't continue to get up posters for trying to 'goad' more information from yourself when you continue to not only attack Rocky at every opportunity but do so in a pretty strong way without providing any evidence. I mean this right here is a very strong statement especially coming from a poster such as yourself who is well respected around here. People obviously trust the information that you share and you do have some great insights.

I just think it's a bit unfair to come out swinging against posters who just want the truth whatever that might be. We all want the best for the footy club.

Swinging? I wouldn't have thought that is what I did.

I've copped a fair bit in this thread for my views, I think I've been pretty measured with people who have got in my face about it, considering.

Anyway, your post isn't anything different to what you've said earlier on, so no point having a repeat back and forth about it, it's not going to advance the discussion one iota.

There are other places away from the absolute public facing Brisbane Bigfooty board where people (many of them from around here) are discussing this stuff in more detail. The level of candidness rightly depends on the setting.

When people on one hand say "if you aren't going to tell us everything you shouldn't say anything at all" it's obvious that their nods towards discretion aren't exactly legit, and would be quickly discarded if they could get more information.

I won't apologise for saying no more on this very public forum than I am comfortable with. Hopefully that's absolutely clear now?

Not trying to press you for more. Sometimes your posting style can be very demeaning. I understand your frustration with continuously being asked but isn't it easier to just ignore the posts?

All up I think I was just trying to get you to see why some posters keep persisting with it and maybe take it a little easier on them. I'm sure we've all been left in the dark at some point or another and we all know how frustrating it can be, especially if it involves something/someone that we are all very passionate about! Strong statements will always garner strong responses.
