A few female Lions members (and male for that matter) vocally expressing their displeasure about it on social media - and rightly so.

surely the club would monitor social media for shit like this and call it out.

if Rocky has a history of chauvinistic attitudes towards women he simply has to go, he is a 26 year old man and the captain of our club, he can not use youthful exuberance as an excuse.

However either totally unaware of the consequences at best, or believing he is beyond reproach at worst.

Well, he does play footy for a living. I can't help but wonder whether people on here have an overly rosy view of what professional athletes (especially footballers) tend to be like. People like Fev (wasn't he one of rockliff's mates?) are just more visible than others. What they get up to is by no means out of the ordinary, and that's a common theme among all clubs- not just poorly run ones like ours. Distasteful as it is, it will always be how player behaviour is 'managed'. Having said that, the necessity of managing footy players doesn't mean you should have footy players who need to be managed off-field in leadership positions.

but this is very standard banter for 26yo friends of both sexes. people rate the looks of the people they hook up with. in most cases from discussions I've been in females speak in much more detail about these things than men do. Men might say 'she's a 3/10' and leave it at that. women go into all details regarding looks, sizes, performance etc.

on the train home last night I was standing next to two people (one male and one female) who openly on a packed train carriage were having a conversation like this using much more colourful and descriptive language about a friend of theres and his ex girlfriend.

Its unacceptable behaviour at any time, but this is a really good point.

We want to be a flagship club, for the womens AFL, no one associated with the club should be engaging in this sort of exchange and if they do the club needs to respond, firmly.
