Apparently Steve is in doubt for this week.If he misses it would be in out in out. The man seems to have never had a solid run since his fence advetures, I wonder if he will ever get back to playing solid football is he now going to join the likes Lynch as a very talanted footballer never to reach the level his talent indicated he would. Maybe we should have looked at sombody like Sherman in last years draft, similar to Steve, a natural forward, bit a goal sneak and has stepped straight up into the Lions side

Since the topic of the great Dog is being posted on our board again , I thought Id bump my post from over 12 months ago.

Steve is probably one of those lucky guys that always could standout at footy.

I can just imagine him in school footy, doing those clever little tricks with snide little murks on his face , while all those other suckers, you know the ones that are basically "crap" and only get anywhere by working hard , struggled to lay a hand on him. I can just imagine him as being one of the boys , he seems to be a social type of chap , a guy thats just fun to hang with when its time to go out and have a bit of fun.

And , even as time went on he got a gig in the in TAC and he must have stood out cause he got drafted. Actually not just drafted, taken in the best 25 kids in one of the best drafts all time.I can just see him at the TAC making a few of those athletic types look like duds, cruising around doing the back pedal and kicking the ball around the corner.

And , even at AFL he looked gifted.Gees how luucky do you have to be to look gifted at this level.I mean this is it, yet one look at the Dog and you could see he had something a liile bit special. He still stood out as guy who had been lucky , when GOD was handing out that certain something, he had been allowed to up size his gift , like it was a Big Mac and fries or something.

And it just makes me wonder just how hard did have really have to go to get all the way to the top. Was there ever a time he had that honest talk with a coach that most players have to get sooner or later. I can just imagine a coach trying to convince him "that the harder you work , the luckier you get". Just how could anyone have expected him to treat the whole process anything more than some grand adventure , where you got the chance to earn a dollar at the same time have the time of your life.

I wonder if he thinks he is lucky now? We to from now? Thats a question for people closer than I but my original concern was having a player that seem incapable of playing a full season fit.Would he ever be able to play 22+ games at tiptop fitness for us? Maybe its not such a big issue at GFC after all the dog is not by himself in that inability.

Anyway I see at the time of the first post I mentioned Sherman. Yes , still would not have minded us getting him. He doesnt look as lucky as the dog but a handy player all the same.
