Is 'Tex' Walker the best racist player in the comp?

How embarrassing for Wurst Coast to be outscored by a notorious racist :$

The AFL are rearranging the fixtures on Monday so WC are playing any team with a milestone every round. It's good for PR that the other team gets a bye and reach rounder for the week with more important things on than playing a competitive game.

Who gets on the computer and goes "I'm going to show the world what an uneducated moron I am."
I mean, I'm fairly average in the world of academics but compared to these people I'm a mensa member.

Eddie Betts is one of my all time favourite indigenous players. He just always seems so full of life and just a happy guy all round.
Going by Twitter and Facebook - many idiots decide to.

Eddie is a genuine bloke - what you see on TV is the real Eddie. Absolute gentleman, he still had time for a quick convo about Kossie Pickett and stayed well past his alloted finishing time to make sure everybidy there got an autograph and photo

I never used twitter although i do have an account and I deleted Facebook completely just recently after my relationship breakup.

I feel so much better without social media. I pretty much only use big footy and reddit when the mood takes me.

And yet still not as racist as the Texan
I wasn't aware it was a competition.
They're all equally racist pieces of shit. Including Walker.

Same.
Disabling Facebook was one of the best decisions I've ever made. And deleting it was probably the best thing for your mental health. Hope you're in a better place now.
Problem with social media is now people use it to become the hero in their own imaginary life. There are people who feel like failures and want to be part of something important and special. That's how people become antivaxxers, conspiracy theorists, religious cult members, racists, neo Nazis and Collingwood supporters. Because they'll do anything to be accepted and validated by an echo chamber of idiots they've never met.

Adelaide has always been the Club associated with racist cookers. It had Hewitt hanging about as Number 1 Ticketholder after his treatment of McLeod and other First Nations peoples whose trust he betrayed. Edwards should have been shown the door for siding with the racist cooker.
I thought that was Collingwood. They have the biggest percentage of bigots in their support base. Plus they've had a lot of questionable types...swan, beams, cox, lumumba, crisp, elliot, noble, degoey...all allegedly racist.

You mentioning Andrew McLeod (no relation, our last names are spelt differently) reminded me of a story from when I was a kid.

I had a poster of Andrew McLeod on my wall because I thought he was amazing when I was a kid and my dad, who was a self hating aboriginal, got angry at me for having an aboriginal player on my wall.
I refused to take it down though and also threatened to start going for Collingwood because he told me he would kick me out of the house if I went for Collingwood. My dad was a fairweather bombers supporter for reference.

As a kid I didn't know anything about it. I just loved Andrew McLeod. But now as an adult I know my Dad, who is not a good person so dont feel too bad for him, hated that he wasn't white. He was adopted by a white family who gave him everything and he was showered with love and affection but I guess he just never felt like he belonged so blamed it on being indigenous.

No doubt the Pies had an appalling record and you can chuck McGuire on that list but they have addressed it and seem to be making progress. Collingwood and Hawthorn were the last Clubs to recruit First Nations players.

Adelaide never addressed the Hewitt - Macleod incident. Charley Cameron could not wait to get out of the joint. The sadness in the tone of Betts voice when discussing Adelaide Is telling.

I heard Josh Jenkins who got out of the Crows after the camp say how he felt personally ashamed for not stepping in when he saw Betts and other guys copping it. Jenkins also said despite Burton and a few of the other cookers being moved on the good old boys like Roo and Tex were running the culture of the joint. He also said as a result of him being outspoken about the Club, he will not even visit Adelaide

A truly sad story. Good onya. Your dad’s story is common many who were adopted out. Hope you have the opportunity to reconnect with some long lost rellos.

I never had a McLeod poster but just delighted in watching him play.

On a positive note Re the Crows, I reckon Nicks is a great person and tho it still grinds my gears Dawson is a thoroughly decent person.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Hope you and your father are in a better place now.

Also nobody should be threatened with barracking for Collingwood.

Do you agree that Tex needs to "do better"?
Where do we start on where Tex needs to do better?
Haircut?
Should have scored 11?
Not be a racist?

ITS HARD BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY ISSUES!

No because telling people to "do better/be better" is as effective as thoughts & prayers for the latest mass shooting

Besides that's like asking the Dreamons to be a successful club again - it's just not going to happen
Yet your club hasn't won a Grand Final since 1990.....

How would that change Melbourne being a failure?

Also you're out by 20 years
2021. The same year you finished 17th - can understand why you'd want to forget that season.

1970? Nope, Carlton won that.

I didn't forget anything, unlike you

3 GFs in 58 seasons for 1 win and 2 absolute floggings is not anyone's definition of success, no matter how much you "But but Collingwood..."
Difference is, Collingwood are very relevant in a Fred about racist players and fans. And you went the "butt butt your team" argument to start with because you didn't want to address your own clubs history of racism.

Now tell me when was your last Grand Final win was if it wasn't 1990.
