Meanwhile Porkins is enjoying retirement at the fat farm.
I'll take that as an acceptance of Buddy's many and varied pharmaceutical adventures (bless him, decent player, couldn't mark overhead)
Meanwhile, Big Tom hasn't retired just yet, has his own farm, and I cannot speak to the body weight of his livestock but I'm sure he takes great care of them.

Now, about this dirty Hawthorn historical racism....

Hawthorn is not a racist list club
There is no evidence to support such slander.
WARNING: This story contains references to intergenerational trauma for Indigenous people, themes of suicide, self-harm and pregnancy loss.
A former Hawthorn footballer claims he needs full time care following alleged mistreatment during his time with the football club.

The player’s heartbreaking story has been detailed in the report commissioned by the club, titled ‘Cultural Safety Review: Of Past and Present Indigenous Players and Staff of the Hawthorn Football Club’.

The Herald Sun has obtained the full report and the findings can be viewed in full here.

The player says he has made several suicide attempts in the report and claims they would not have occurred if club staff had cultural awareness training and had more knowledge about First Nations people.

The horrific allegation comes after ABC Sport first reported the external review had uncovered allegations senior staff at Hawthorn demanded the separation of First Nations players from their partners and pressured one player and his partner to terminate a pregnancy for the sake of his career.

Former Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson and former assistant coach Chris Fagan have both repeatedly denied the allegations made in the report.

Not racist at all

Lagging behind in talent recruitment

In the first 75 years of Hawthorn's existence in the VFL, just two Indigenous players pulled on the gold and brown guernsey.

Cyril Collard (1957-58) and Percy Cummings (1964-65) played 18 games between them, before an apparent move away from recruiting Indigenous talent.

The Hawks were not alone in this approach – the 60s and 70s were noticeable for a dearth of Indigenous players in the VFL, with the notable exception of star players like Geelong's Polly Farmer and North Melbourne's Barry Cable making the move from Western Australia to try their hand at Victorian clubs.

Where the Hawks stood out as an anomaly was through the 80s and 90s.

As star players like Gavin Wanganeen, Andrew McLeod, Chris Johnson, Ronnie Burns and Michael O'Loughlin started to make their names, Hawthorn continued to hold out from selecting Indigenous players to join their senior ranks.

"The statement of claim also references an incident in May 2015 when Clarkson allegedly turned up to a meeting held by several Hawthorn Indigenous players over a proposed boycott amid fallout from the Adam Goodes booing saga.

“Mr Clarkson … invited himself to the meeting … imposed himself on, and derailed, the meeting, by bringing his guitar and singing a song about Mr Rioli … (and) discouraged the players from going through with the boycott.”
