Sometimes I wonder if there are systems or galaxies out there that have life on more than one planet, and they have organised sports leagues between themselves, getting on spaceships to play an away game on another planet. That'd be something huh.

I agree, it's a laughably amateurish backwater competition. If you watch overseas sport there are equitable draws, less interference from the governing body, and the commentary is less self-serving. What we have here is just an overpriced bush league. Sorry.

and single mothers raising soft sons to play soccer
and young males teachers not teaching at primary school so no footy for kids
Macdonalds and sesame street has conditioned us to demand instant gratification

Everyone should play everyone twice no special deal for the franchises and the slow kids

Ps, the AFL is a plaything for Toorak cowboys and marketing graduates. Auskick is softer than soccer. At least in soccer you can lay a tackle.

Create a two tier league. Hell add two more teams so each tier has 10 teams. Play each team in your league at home and away. Top 3 teams in the lower tier get promoted and bottom 3 in the top drop down. At least there'd be no teams with softer draws.

If they are looking to further expand the league this system of relegation and promotion will be needed.
