Watching Hawthorn yesterday they will beat us and the closest we may come to a win is in Round 13 vs The Eagles and we can’t beat them as that’s in Perth then we get a 2nd chance in Hobart against The Eagles in Round in Round 22 .
This club could go up to %90 of the season which will start the AFL to question the running of this club and could say there taking over.
If we are 0 wins from 12 games then just say Fu:kit flip the chess board over in all aspects of this club try something new.
Here could be an example what they may need to consider.
1:Take Zuhaar 5 year contract off the table and make sign new deal by July a 2 year deal with a trigger of a 3rd year if he doesn’t sign play him in the VFL for the rest of the season.
2:Sack Rawlings and Clayton ASAP then at the end of the year chase a Neil Balme type that has success on and off the field in this sport.
3:Besides the following our best play Sheezel Larkey Wardlaw McKercherand now Xerri the rest of the players if performing badly drop and we have to use the whole list so be it.
4:If Board Members don’t want to take this losing mentality out of the club then go I don’t care who it is .
Thats some things others may agree or disagree or have there own ideas but I can say future home games this season at Marvel or Hobart could be like Ghost Towns with no supporters turning up and been outnumbered by the opposition.
Goodness me

Goodness me

We may as well start up Memberships for Tumbleweeds if the Man is correct. At least they don’t have feelings

So what sack him now? At least give the coach until the end of the year to see across a whole season if there is some tangible improvement FFS. You cannot possibly think he's got a great list to work with, surely?

Don’t sack him now, next year or (hopefully) the year after.
We’d want to start seeing some proper improvement though.

And not going continuing to go backwards.

Noble didn’t have the list either, by the way. No point blaming that anyway if you don’t help yourself with team selection and gameday moves, neither of which have been particularly inspiring so far.

Serious question here…
If we end up bottom with 1-2 wins again … are we entitled to request for more priority picks ? Doesn’t mean we will get them but will we be asking the question ? tmp.gif

We should. So far we got a future 2nd and a future third we had to trade. Then 3 ‘end of first round picks’ that so far have yielded the pick 29. The other two we also had really not much choice but to trade and will end up at around the mid twenties. Would you trade a number 1 pick for that? Few would.

I feel like rock bottom was this game last year when Geelong visibly took the piss trying to get Zach Tuohy a goal in his milestone match.

Half way through the second quarter…..

It was absolutely embarrassing.

We'll find out in a few years. Everybody wants to see improvement but individual player and team development is not always linear.
Have a look at Freo, they had a big jump to play finals, then a step back and then a step forward most likely.
Not sure spinning the magnets is wise this early when trying to build team chemistry with a lot of new parts. He may be focused on role education, particularly against the better sides getting them experience against certain players to learn.
As for if we improve, it's on the 80-150 game players, not the kids, who will play one good quarter and then drop off.

Lets not forget that Clarko's first 2 years at Hawthorn was rough,I mean Hawks sucked.
Yeah remember how good we thought we were because Nathan Thompson kicked 8 against them.
They looked clueless one day at Marvel trying to figure out what Clarko wanted them to do switching the ball.
One team went onto win a flag and it wasn't us.

I think we are possibly confusing this with the Schwab last 2 years maybe?

I would take the above outcome in a heartbeat

3 years!

Take Clarko out of the equation we have been rubbish for 20-21-22 and now these 2 years

Oh ok I might have it wrong. Just assumed the Hay and Thompson trades happened at the start of Clarko's era.

We are completely irrelevant, no mention of us on any of the football shows, I hear how wet toast have had a hard draw no mention of north’s super hard draw thus far…. 1/11 beckons what an effing joke even with Clarkson….

AFL is a tv show. Most teams are supporting characters. We aren't even that - we are currently the nameless extras that are seen in the background once every now and then for about 4 seconds.

To become a lead character, we need to start winning games. Only way.

I don't think so, most of the clubs weren't happy then, so two clubs getting handouts would be a a huge vote of no confidence. But it does beg the question if West Coast finish last and ask for help like we got last year and we are next to then {worst case scenario}. It would be interesting to see what happens.

We've made those Melbourne & Carton teams from the 2000s/2010's look half decent, that's how bad it's been.

Our worst has been as bad as theirs, they were bad for longer though (so far).

Melbourne fiished 14th in 07, and spooners in booth 08 and 09. They looked like they were turning the corner in 2010 - won 8.5 games including smashing finals team Sydney. Then they fell off the cliff again for another 5 years of bottom finishes, where they were somehow even worse. That's what worries me about us. One good year might still be a false dawn. I think we will track more like Hawthorn did though.

In years to come we’ll look back at this weekends game as a key turning point in our journey to relevance again. I can feel it in my loins. Bookmark it.

Curtis - 5 goals.

I’d like to clarify that the feeling in my loins appear to have actually been gastro. My apologies for any confusion or undue optimism caused.

I hope you don't mind the intrusion, for those familiar with the history of our two clubs - notably 1924 and 1944 - I have lots of respect and time for North as a club.

I do feel for North fans watching today, which I'm sure blends in like a lot of other games in the last 3-4 years. I hope for those that do stick with the team that one day in the coming years things will come good. You're a good fanbase that deserves better than what you're getting atm.

I did enjoy seeing Sheezel get some kicks around 60m out and hit targets with short bullet kicks. A weapon for the future forward of centre. Thought Ford and Curtis tried hard and played well given the limited I50 supply. Larkey would be my favourite opposition key forward. Such a good kick.

Think we're seeing that the media and fan outrage at concessions North have received in the last 24 months has by and large been over the top. The players traded in aren't doing a lot to help short term performance, although I do think Logue is decent, and as mature age players they should be.

Good post. 100% agree. Logue will be the only one that is any good for us, the other three are literal shit that add nothing. Priority picks that have to be traded were never going to bring in star players, if anything it helps other clubs get list cloggers off their lists and a free hit at the draft. It’s actually bullshit
