I'm surprised Heeney is leading this poll. Petracca has been excellent for a number of years, but Heeney's start to this season is definitely showing up Longmire for persisting with him at a forward. Heeney should be a full-time mid, too talented to be stuck forward and probably currently leading the Brownlow

Poll started in 2016 – Trac didn't really break out until 2020.

Agree re Heeney as a midfielder though. That's where he should've been for years.

I'd like to congratulate Heeney on having 8 more disposals than Brand Petracca from his 3 grand final appearances (2016, 2022, 2024) compared to Petracca's one (2021), i.e. 47 disposals to 39.

And he's matched Petracca's 2 goals in grand finals with 2 goals of his own from those three grand finals.

Unfortunately for Heeney, Petracca has more total clearances, more total goal assists, more total score involvements, more total clearances and more total metres gained from his solitary grand final.

Heeney made AA in his last two grand final years, but when it came to performing on the big stage he's been lamentable.

When Brand Petracca got his opportunity he stood up and won a Norm Smith Medal. Don't ever put Heeney in Petracca's league again.
