Plestia, Bisan, Motaz, Al-Jazeera and others been reporting what's been happening on the ground. They've shown the reality of the situation through sharing livestreams, photos, videos, personal stories, interviews etc.

Maybe you need to broaden your news sources. Couldn't tell you the last post I saw from Hamas because I'm not obsessed with them. My interest is in the safety of the Palestinians which lies at the hands of the Israeli government. Hamas don't need to post anything for us to see the atrocities the Israeli government is committing in Gaza and the West Bank.

Everyone fakes stories. Hamas do, IDF does, Russia and Ukraine both do. It's usually produced by non-affiliated randoms partisan to a cause. The actual entities in the conflicts are rarely directly behind them. But sympathetic media and retweeters WILL get sucked in by them commonly.

As a weapon of war, it's worth it. A retraction will never get the purchase that the original claim got.

The only takeaway is the reminder to treat everything with a critical eye. Unless an entire war or invasion can be faked, one is better served shelving a fake and going back to look for stuff that can be evidenced.
