I can't understand why RFC would not entertain Brodie and pick 7 given pick 7 would be so valuable to our list management with our 2021 draftees.

Sadly it seems we are committed to TT and Hopper

No doubt if it was me I would take pick 7 go to the draft and run the guantlet with Bowes

I do not believe this was not concocted by AFL HQ, there is a agenda here for sure like there always is

How much of the reported 2 x 800 pa is match payments. How much is guaranteed ? How much does he get playing 2nds?

If he has a high base , and GC do not see a need for him ... then maybe a pick.... even P7 hold a lot less value for GC. as they have been to the draft so often... another early pick kid who that may not have a spot for... that comes for two years and wants out . P7 to them is useful but not like it is for some other clubs.

What they need is clear air to sign the players they see as critical , and perhaps have cap room to be chasing chase mature players in the next 24 months to fill needs. GC should be an ideal place to go for the second half of a career. Once GC are competitive, perhaps finalists ..I feel a lot of their retention problems will flip.


I still feel that GC would want a 2023 competent. Put aside the way Cal T has said you are purchasing a P7 .... If GC have a need for points in 2023 ...I could see them wanting something from 2023 in the deal. Still be a great deal if you have cap room.

I would say a pretty balanced view. As for Bowes salary, as far as I know it was not reported anywhere. Just someone on BigFooty came up with the number and now everyone is running with it. The only thing reported was that it is back ended (Twomey).
