We should have picked up his brother Peter, he's massive, from what I understand.
Luke Ball found that out, Lyon though a good coach like most coaches does have his favs and if not 1 of them you could be on the outer very fast.(1) Oleg Markov had been cut from an underwhelming Suns team, so anything is possible.
(2) Ross Lyon is a good coach - you don’t take St Kilda and Freo to three GF’s between them if you ain’t. But he doesn’t strike me as a coach who allows all the personalities in the locker room to thrive.
A year in South Australia next? It could happenHe's got some huge shoes to fill if he's going to replace Tyler Brown
Tom Lynch (The Adelaide one) a good example. I know for a fact that Ross couldn't get him out of St Kilda quick enough because he just could not play the game. (In Ross's view)Luke Ball found that out, Lyon though a good coach like most coaches does have his favs and if not 1 of them you could be on the outer very fast.

Jack Bytel Draft Profile
DRAFT ANALYSIS: "An inside midfielder who has top endurance, capable of winning a truckload of the ball and laying plenty of tackles."central.rookieme.com
Hine has said before, if you can’t run you can’t be part of our game plan.My two Saints mates just texted me. Bytel is an elite distance runner.

Luke Ball post OP was just a very very one dimensional player, he could do the extractor role but was poor at everything else. Had no leg speed, couldn't compete in the air and could barely kick the ball 40 metres.
It worked out well for us that his 1 trick was the thing we needed, however Saints didn't really need it seeing as they already had enough inside grunt. It actually made a lot of sense for the Saints to drop Ball

He took Luke Ball off at half time in one GF.
Forced his hand for Bally to come to us.
My Saints mates were pissed he was delisted. Reckon he is a good in and under mid. Shpuld flourish under PiesRoss the Boss kinda forgot he existed last year
It made no sense to ostracise a player so badly they walked to your strongest competitor. I'm sure Lyon didn't expect that to bite him but you reap what you sew. It probably cost them a premiership.
They could have at least tried to get something back from him.I mean he wasn't in the Saints best 22, what other option other than letting him walk did they have? He was uncontracted

And what jumper was he wearing when he accepted the Cup.Best trivia question ever - Who was the last Captain of St Kilda to win a Premiership?
Na he means Luke BallAnd what jumper was he wearing when he accepted the Cup.
Very good. I'm going to go back and like that post to pretend that I got the joke.Na he means Luke Ball
I also like the fact that they are experienced but younger mids and all able to step up over the next year or twoPendles, Sidey, Mitchell have all got one, possibly two seasons left in them tops, Adams is gone. Makes sense to be loading up the options for future mids.
Ball played 20 games in his last year at the Saints, including all finals. Gathered 22 touches in 46% ToG in the Grand Final. Think that gets him "best 22".I mean he wasn't in the Saints best 22, what other option other than letting him walk did they have? He was uncontracted
