Considering he is a known sniper who gets away with it you would imagine he would keep a low profile on this type of incident but I suppose being a kitty kat means he feels he is immune to criticism . . just ask the AFL and the media.
Can’t stand DangerFlog, Selwood, Cameron and Chris Scott

Don't encourage him. They look terrible. I used to hate running out when a teammate had a t shirt or singlet under his guernsey, and helmets have the same affect on me. If you can't get a kick you can at least look like a footballer! Brayshaw is a great example. I want to rip his helmet off every time I see him. Sorry. It's a bit of a hang up of mine. Probably why I struggle to watch juniors! Do they actually make any difference as far as concussion is concerned? My brother was a boxer and he wore the head gear when he sparred he used to come home with bad headaches and black eyes anyway.
Brayshaw would not be playing at all without his helmet.
He has suffered numerous long term concussion injuries.

That said he also hates that he has to.

There is no evidence to show that such helmets actually help in a case like his, is there?
He hasn't had another concussion injury.
If you like you should watch the "Open Mike" episode featuring Mark Brayshaw, Angus, Will, Hamish and Andrews Father.
Very good interview.

No, he has not. But I would be wary of attributing that to the helmet without evidence to support it. In fact, all the evidence I've seen seems to be to the contrary - prevents skull fractures and the like (Justin Koschitzke), but not concussions.

As long as James isn't there :p

God DangerFlog is still having a sook what a pathetic prick of a person
I hope he stays up on his high horse and keeps harping on about it. All he’s doing is ensuring Ginnivan will play better if we are good enough to get a GF rematch against Geelong
He feeds off this sort of stuff, and we only needed one more goal last time…

Keep going Danger, just keep telling us how mean Ginnivan was to you.

I am pretty sure a neurosurgeon made the call, so I am not sure what the evidence is.

From the AFL Research Board & AFL Medical Officers' Association: http://www.neurosurgery.net.au/resources/Concussion/AFL-Concussion-Management.pdf

  • There is no definitive scientific evidence that helmets prevent concussion or other brain injuries in Australian football.
  • There is some evidence that younger players who wear a helmet may change their playing style, and receive more head impacts as a result. Accordingly, helmets are not recommended for the prevention of concussion.
  • Helmets may have a role in the protection of players on return to play following specific injuries (e.g. face or skull fractures).

I’d assume there would be an element of the mere wearing of the helmet constantly prompting behavioral change so he’s become more judicious about where he sticks his head.

You would think that might be the case. I know the reverse is true for juniors

Can't believe Dangerfield is still whining and sulking about the alleged chicken wing incident with Ginnivan. What a hypocrite. Someone posted a pic of him pinning one of DeGoey's arms and hurling him into the turf. How is that any less malicious and Ginnivan had no case to answer.
He got softball questions because Whatley is such a Geelong supporting suckhole

There's this from Damo as well:

IF ...

you were to somehow remove or at least for a moment forget all the hype, the criticism, the questionable umpiring initially for and then more commonly against him, the unfair booing, the offerings on TikTok, the accusation of a chicken-winging, the haircut and then the hair bleaching...

THEN ...

you'd simply see a very smart footballer who has kicked 39 very important goals (only Brody Mihocek has more for the Pies with 40), has a rare calmness in pressurised moments, possesses an old-school footy brain and is more selfless than people choose to realise. Jack Ginnivan. What a year, no matter what happens on Saturday against the Swans and potentially beyond.

See his story of Darcy Moore today? This kid is a gem, he is deadset so unapologetically himself and he takes the piss so hard. I love him, hope he kicks 5 tomorrow
