See his story of Darcy Moore today? This kid is a gem, he is deadset so unapologetically himself and he takes the piss so hard. I love him, hope he kicks 5 tomorrow
Game sealing goal from a free kick, ideally given by Papley or Buddy (somehow) is my dream scenario.

Not to sure there would be enough volunteers ready to clash heads to really conduct a meaningful study either...

The NFL has studied the impact of wearing helmets and the last I read they believe it's worse as people put their head in places they wouldn't without it. Which leads to more hits to the head.
It doesn't stop the knock to the head and brain rattle, it only dulls the impact at the hit site and helps prevent cuts.

I am not doubting your claims.
That said for near on 40 years there was no clear scientific evidence that smoking caused cancer either.

Buddy to give the initial free for Choke hold on the swans 50 then Papley to give away the 50 screaming at the umpire.

Pretty sure there was. Big tobacco just didn’t allow it any air.

That was the stupidest 50m penalty I think I’ve ever seen paid against someone too. He must feel like he’s playing a different sport to everyone else.

Then the one that they didn't pay against Buddy...

Ended up being the game sealing goal TO Papley by a free kick awarded TO him (and a free kick not paid against him to Moore that should have been!).

That is almost the direct nightmare scenario.

The Age journo reckons Franklin towelled Moore, not so sure myself but the backline wasn't as solid as it has been this year.
Franklin was dominant in the beginning (when Moore was on Reid), and did nothing in the 2nd half. I thought the first half from our backline was shocking.

I put it on the coaching though. Really not sure what they were thinking with the match-ups, and the way we were zoning off so loosely.

I don’t blame our backline that much in the first half. It was up the ground that we didn’t pressure or slow their ball movement enough.

The ball was coming in so quick they didn’t have much of a chance.

Definitely an element of that, they were rebounding very quickly. But hated how long we persevered with Maynard on Franklin for, for example.

Doesn’t matter which player is on Buddy when the ball is coming in that quick, but Darcy should’ve been the move after the 1st qtr. You could see in the 1st qtr he was trying to zone off Reid and be the helper.

Yeah, it is tricky with how well Sydney use the footy. Ah well

It's reached the point now that umpires are making up ludicrous decisions against him that would never be paid against any other player.

He stopped exactly on the mark to my eye. Besides, don’t they normally give a little “2 steps back” or “one metre back” warning usually when they initially man the mark?

The argument that it is 50 is that Ginnivan should know to stand further back on the mark in that position automatically

The argument against it being 50 is every other player in the entire afl is instructed to move back first except on that one occasion. There was a moment where Buddy did the same thing in the last I’m pretty sure where he was allowed to be told to move back

Crap aside, seeing him smiling during the national anthem is the most heart warming stuff. He loves footy and you can see he loves playing at the pies. His year had its ups and downs (more from a personal and media side) but you can never deny his passion and enthusiasm.
