Has been our most underrated player this year in my opinion. Averaging 16 disposals, 7 marks, 2 tackles and 2.6 goals a game. If he can maintain this form for the rest of the year, he will make the All-Australian team on the half forward line.

How good is this guy! He is the modern day key forward, a guy who is 6ft4 and agile. Forget this roaming flanker rubbish, he is the prototype key forward for the modern era. Should be aiming for 800 career goals, if he continues to develop there's no reason he won't get there.

Nope. Get him out of the team. He may do an injury! Dont want to take those sorts of risks.

He is 1 guy who seems to never get injured, but you watch, the club will omit him 2 hours before the match with a cork haha.

I'm gunna be a Gunner fan!

But, can someone explain this: I regularly see him in defence. He just bobs up there, not just in defence, but cleaning up deep in defence, sometimes in the goal square.

What's the strategy here?
Is he just helping out, or is it planned that he goes there?

.

I think he pushes up to be an option and then his man drags him there so he can't be the get out of jail kick for our defenders. I think it is a deliberate opposition tactic but as I only watch on TV I can't be sure. Maybe sometimes he just goes back to help stem the tide too like what we do with roughy.

[Cliche] Just playing his role [/Cliche]

I have noticed the same thing. I gather he has been instructed to do it...it's probably part overlap, part unpredictability and part utilisation of physical (running) attributes.

If I was coach and had a player like Gunners at my disposal with uncanny instinct and footy smarts I'd give him the license to roam and do as he pleases. Always bobs up in the right spot at the right time.

Just a tidbit for you guys Gunners is good because of all the hard work he puts in on the track. Today he was still seen kicking for goal whilest everyone else had left the ground bring back memories of piggy dunstall and doing the number 19 proud.

Has Normie gone past Ben Dixon?

Kid has the right to be called a star. Solid finals contributor and very consistent during the season. Amazing trade in hindsight by the Hawks, just shows what a smart footy brain and some endeavour on some of these kids can do for their development after being drafted.

Gunners,Breust,Strats and Burgers would have to be 4 of of the best players with football smarts!!!!

It was not practice! he only had a few set shots.

They were filming him kicking for goal for some reason, probably to do with PR wnakery, judging by the two porky middle aged women that were out there with the camera crew contributing nothing at all. So they must have been managing it! The most obvious inference to be drawn was that these women were useless PR types (sorry for the tautology).

Perhaps he asked them too so he could see what he was doing when he was missing and refine his kicking... ;)

What sort of a dog act was this by Adelaide when Gunston departed.

Quote below from wikipedia.

"After two years in Adelaide, Gunston became homesick and sought to return to Victoria. He had been awarded the Mark Bickley Award as the club's best young player, but he was stripped of the title after announcing his intentions to leave".

Why would you stay at a club if they do this sort of petty s#it?
