you didnt get from 11 to 6 with a second did u?

6 and a future 2nd for 11, 23, 30 & 49 was the trade.

We had 1 first to start the trade period (the Butters pick). We got a second 1st for Wingard (The Duursma pick). We got a 3rd first for Polec/Pittard which we then used to upgrade up to 5 by trading in a bunch of 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Pretty much accepted that the AFL will allow them to trade Future first given they got JHF in, who they will count as a first.

Edit: Cal Twomey has recently said as much
The policy around trading future firsts is a policy, not a rule .....it's very flexible

Port turned some incredibly lopsided trades for them into Rozee and JHF.

Pick 11 for Pittard and Polec?

Pick 8 and a future first for contracted JHF and Rioli?

Meanwhile we trade pick 5 for Rankine and pick 25 for ANB.
Because both West Coast and GWS stupidly decided to get well unders in that trade.

yeh ok bloody good trading

I have no doubt in my mind the outrage by Rachele's own teammates has caused a huge amount of damage with players from other clubs wanting to play for us.

Interesting listening to the various trade talks today (Gettable and Sam Edmund in Sen)

Hearing now we had 5 year deal for Luko, Port upped to 7 years!!

Given it’s unlikely he would go anywhere why the 7? Hopefully it induces a bit of comfort. All the key Port boys on 6+ years now excluding Butters

It was West Coast that got boned in that deal.

Trade out: Junior Rioli, picks No.2, 40
Trade in: Picks No.8, 12, 2023 second-round pick (tied to Port Adelaide), 2023 third-round pick (tied to Port Adelaide)

They absolutely should and could have shaken out Geordidas in that trade.

Yes I absolutely don't get it from their perspective.

jason cripps is either a jedi or his maths is better than all the other list managers

Going to be interesting to see if the AFL grant Powa the ability to trade their future 1st because surely at this stage they don't have much else to get it done unless Houston lands them the collateral.

AFL CLEARANCE ON FUTURE TRADE

PORT Adelaide would need AFL clearance to be able to part with its future first-round pick after Gold Coast forward Jack Lukosius nominated the Power as his preferred new home.

Under the AFL's future trading rules, clubs have to use two first-round picks at the draft over a rolling four-year period.

However a clause in the rule allows clubs to apply for permission to trade out their picks if they haven't met the two-in-four requirement.

The Power used first-round picks on Lachie Jones in 2020 and Josh Sinn in 2021 but over the past two years has focused on trade acquisitions, without any first-round picks in 2022, 2023 and having already traded out their 2024 first-round pick.

the keays payback. AFL block them trading F1

The #portlogic has kicked in, just saw this over on the Port board

Port: Lukosius, 12 (GC), Future 1st (Carlton), 20 (GC)
Gold Coast: Future 1st (Port), 31 (Carlton)
Carlton: Houston

So basically Gold Coast give up Luko, Pick 12 and Pick 20 for Port's 2025 first rounder.

🤣

I'm glad this has been brought up, Port have been trading first round picks like there's no tomorrow and haven't complied with the 2 in four rule.

It's good to see that the narrative from the AFL media for Luko is a first round pick because it helps set his value and hopefully means that GC are asking a fair price for him.
