With the story on the AFL website about that its time for Jack Watts leaves Melbourne and the Hawks named as a club that he would improve at would we want him.

He has the Foot Skills that the Clarko wants in his backman.

Could he play at full back and Shoey at centre Half Back for the next 10 years.

What do you guys think?

JACK Watts needs to leave Melbourne.

Melbourne needs to let him go.

Things just haven¹t worked for individual or club since they joined amid manic publicity at the 2008 national draft, and even in a best-case scenario from here, they are not going to work for a very, very long time.

The Demons are not going to become successful soon.

Given their past six completed seasons (highest ladder finish of 12th in that period) and already the guarantee of a tumultuous 2013, it is possible to mount an argument the Demons will not even approach success in Watts¹ football-playing lifetime.

Depends what they want for him. Being a number one pick I think they are going to expect something pretty decent when the reality is he was an emergency in possible the worst side in the comp.

Wouldn't want to give up any players or a pick below 30ish.

I saw his first TAC Cup game for Sandy against Gippsland at Trevor Barker and at the National Championships in 2008.

Jack also won the Larke Medal as player of the Carnival as a bottom ager.

Firstly the kid has oodles of talent. He was the no 1 draft pick as a 17yo remember, that doesn't happen by accident or religous interference.

Secondly his developement at the Demons has been truly dreadful.

He needs his passion and enjoyment back and it's just not going to happen at the Dees.

At the right price, for sure!

The one thing that every hawthorn Player, Assistant Coach, member, Supporter and all the employees all agree on is: Clarkson will not tolerate anything less than going hard at the ball and man each time, every time and all the time...... I can't back Watts to do that so I doubt Clarko would.

Happy to have him at the right price (very cheap).

Plenty of talent, but his development has fallen right off.

Great skills off the HBF, and one day if he ever becomes brave or strong enough he might even make a KPP.

Would have to be cheap.

IMO alot of that has to do with Melbourne babying him. When he first came they went on and on about how he will take time a nd basically made excuse after excuse, then when he played as a KP forward they made excuses and moved him to a flank, then moved him back, then to the back flank, then when he got a few cheapies there, they said how he's living up to his potential. They've enabled him to become the player he is.

He should be sent to the 2s to play chf chb and stay there until he can earn a spot playing there in the seniors. I don't like the idea of sending kpps or mids to the hbf just because they won't go hard enough in their proper position.

Anyway I doubt he would come here because they will want too much and we couldn't guarantee him a game as right now he wouldn't be near our best 22.

This would be an absolute steal. Hes still young enough and impressionable enough, i have no doubt a culture such as hawthorns could instill the work ethic needed to go along with considerable talent.

Anyone who saw him in the under 18's would know he has amazing talent.

IMO something like Pick 20 + Savage would be well worth from Hawthorns end.

I'd be happy with that deal. I doubt Melbourne would though. They'd want more

I would take him in a heart beat. Imagine him after a couple of years of learning from Luke Hodge? That would put some hair on his chest!

Having said that, there is a chance that he is just a pea heart, and it is not a matter of scrubbing the Melbourne from him. Would not pay more than a second round pick (around pick 40), or a fringe player who mainly plays VFL (Savage, Cheney (lol), Ellis, etc.
