Hawthorn over the past few years have been the benchmark at doing good and fair trades, but I cant recall you getting two players of the same rating (at the time of the trade, not now) as Mitchell and O'Meara in the same trade period. Whether or not you have enough to give in order to get the deals done is the big question.
Hawthorn don't have that pick at the moment and what player from their best 22 can they force out?
It makes perfect sense
Why is McEvoy unsigned for next year?
McEvoy and our first pick in 2017 for JOM
lol, you can "commit and agree" as much as you want, but until all 3 parties agree it is literally meaningless.Jesus Lance its not hard. By now, players have already committed & agreed.... these are done months (even a year) in advance
Agents/Players/Clubs public narratives differ greatly to private ones.
You may well end up with him in the PSD but he isn't going through the process now of choosing his club - this has already been done. The time for clubs to sell their club to Jaeger has already passed... No doubt there are contingency plans but its extremely uncommon for players to not get to their desired location.
fair enough. And not a BigFooty ITK.. Jaxons who is a lot more accurate than BS. Though BS and several other ITKs are all indicating now that Saints have gone cold on JOM. Opinions vary on which club he will go to though.
Steele while not confirmed is tipped to be a Saint if he actually does leave GWS.
Or Harley BalicIt might not be a draft pick that Fremantle give up for Brad Hill. Ever heard of a player for player swap? Fremantle might trade one of Crozier or Langdon for Hill.
A genuine option to get a trade done for O'Meara could be getting involved with a Lobb, McCarthy and Brad Hill to Fremantle trade as this opens up a plethora of options for draft picks and willing parties.Agree. The Hawks draft picks including next year are only good enough to be "steak knives" for either player. Let alone both.
So that would mean losing 4 good players as the Hawks will not trade a star.
I could see the Suns taking Sicily and McEvoy for JOM, but what players would the Swans take from the Hawks that they would accept? Hartung = big no.
McEvoy is widely tipped to retire at seasons end.No way will it be McEvoy. His skin can't handle it up there.
But seriously, would need to cough up a better player than that

why? still playing well from the bits and pieces from what i have seen. always liked him.
Really?. Bit of a surprise.
He is an intelligent and qualified young fella though isn't he?
Just preferring life/career other than fulltime footy?[/QUOTE]
This and may be struggling physically with the demands of the modern game.
It makes perfect sense

I don't know about 'widely tipped' to retire.why? still playing well from the bits and pieces from what i have seen. always liked him.
so GC will take an inferior offer from Hawthorn over a better offer from other clubs... why?Mcevoy retiring at 27!!? First I've heard of it. There may be other reasons behind the hold up.
As for jom, isn't it funny how when hawthorn get mentioned, people are so quick to slam the trade viability down with questions that could be asked of any old trade with other clubs! As if the hawks are some stupid coma induced dumb arses who are getting ready for the reaming! If Jaeger picks the hawks then the deal will be done and I'd be very surprised if it involves Sicily at all.
Only hearsay but sounds a very real possibility according to many over on our board.
Have very solid mail that if they win number 4 then forcing someone out will not be a problem as a couple of their current starting 18 will retire. If a club wants to offer O'Meara a long term deal worth good coin then they value him highly and need to cough up a decent pick and/or player.
Hawthorn don't have that pick at the moment and what player from their best 22 can they force out?
That needs to be taken into account. Their 1st pick will definitely not get it done. Maybe their 1st pick for next year might
Hence our well publicised interest in Vickery AND Vardy. There literally no basis to the rumour what so ever.
He just looks old and has played with an injury in the later part of the year = retire.
It would be a disaster if he retired. We have no other fit capable ruckman on our list.
Hence our well publicised interest in Vickery AND Vardy.
Or Harley Balic
Unfortunately neither of our thoughts on them matter.Vickery is not a ruckman. Vardy is injured 70% of time.
O'Meara would have to agree to go to another club. They can certainly endeavour to manipulate/encourage/pressure him to go to a club that they would prefer to deal with, but ultimately if he digs his heals in and doesn't agree they will be in a situation where they have to accept the best possible offer from the club of his choosing, or let him walk into the draft and accept nothing in return. They don't have the power to send him wherever they wantso GC will take an inferior offer from Hawthorn over a better offer from other clubs... why?
