What's he gonna do? Sit out for a year? Quit the AFL and go work at Woolies?

O'Meara has met with us multiple times, did a medical with us, and we have enough in the cap to give him his 600k a year. Just because you want the 10/10 prom queen doesn't mean you wouldn't settle for the 8/10 cheerleader.

Carlton did with Nick Stevens and he gave them great service.
Jaeger isn't going to sit 2 years out of footy

Yes, he has injury concerns. Your medical dept is obviously pretty confident given the money/deal on offer.

If the bombers had 600k to offer O'Meara then hibbered would still be there rather than trying to go to the dees.
Add on james Stewart salary can't see it happening

All this talk of other clubs taking him before the hawks is just as amusing especially when no other club has had talks with the gold coast for a trade. If O'Meara goes to the PSD and states he only want to play for the hawks that's where he will end up. It would be the exact same situation with any other club who had a player nominate them as well.

Even if O'Meara went in the ND he would still get to the hawks.
That scenario leaves the hawks better placed due to the fact they would have to use first round pick this year and next year could potentially trade future 2018 picks.

It would be irresponsible for him not to check out a few clubs, medicos, facilities etc
Turns out the bombers didn't cut the mustard for O'Meara. Otherwise we would be hearing more about potential trades and even his manager leaving open or hinting at the opportunity to play elsewhere next year other than hawks could be a real possibility. But still we keep hearing he only want to play for the hawks.

North would hand over an old guy and 11 in a heartbeat for pick 8.

Gc would also do it in a heartbeat if it meant forcing the hawks back to finding them a suitable player to go along with pick 10.

I think you will need to admit that the insurance you bought with getting pick 10..

If no deal is done, JOM will nominate for the ND with a big price on his head.

Apart from maybe Carlton at pick 5 (assuming it doesn't end up at GWS) I don't see a club with the will and cap space to take him.

That was the PSD where it cost Carlton nothing. If OMeara selects National Draft no way in hell Essendon uses pick 1 on him.
