From my understanding there has been virtually no comments from jaegar or his manager about a prefered club and avenues to get to a new a club. The only comments about PSD came from gold coast.
So my point remains (hypothetically) why would a club take a player who does not want to play there at the risk of upsetting the rest of the playing list and club.
If Jaeger came out and said I only want to play for a certain team and I have zero interests playing anywhere else, I can't see any club picking him up other than his desired choice. Potentially he could slip to which ever club he nominates in the PSD. Just cause essendon has the first pick doesn't mean they will select him especially if he categorically rules them out of the race for his signature.

Because his manager has indicated to the club with the number 1 selection in the preseason draft that he'd be happy with ending up at Essendon.
Triple M Footy’s Damian Barrett believes Gold Coast midfielder Jaeger O’Meara’s management team would “go out of their way” to ensure he goes to Essendon in the pre-season draft and that the Suns get nothing in return for him.

Source is someones opinion?

O'Meara's management has been in contact with efc for months. You can be sure if he was so dead set on the Hawks then other clubs would know. We have put our pitch in, now we're waiting for his answer.

Look, he might full well come back with an answer and it may be that he wants to go to the hawks. But we are still in the picture.

Reality is, ever since the GCS threat, the PSD talks would have been had with us and his management because its a real possability of GCS follow through.

Reported by Damien Barrett... so probably not.

I'm just saying that it's pretty silly to think that after the threat of the PSD by the Gold Coast, that in EFC + JOM's management's discussions it wouldn't have popped up. It would have. We're still in the picture..

As I said above, he might well nominate hawks, and if I'm honest I even expect him to.

It was an accident that Sydney took the best player in the AFL off us who we managed to thump in the Grand Final by 63 points then proceed to win another 2 flags after he deflected.

It was an accident Hawthorn were the oldest winning Premiership team in AFL/VFL history in 2015 against West Coast in the 33 degree boiling heat who prior to the Grand Final beat us 3 weeks before.

:$:thumbsu:
Deflected?
Hmmmm?
Maybe you're right:p:D

And his management has been in regular contact with Carlton since before Bolton was appointed.

St Kilda's list management team have also been in constant contact since late 2014.

My money is still on Hawthorn.

Exactly. I'd imagine north too. It's not as simple as Hawks have been linked to him for a year so he's theirs. Plenty of clubs have been putting work in.

This is very simple for GC. Either allow themselves to get walked over by every player that wants out or finally make a stand.

They aren't a feeder club.

Get a good player and/or picks or send him to the draft and make an example.

Sure, they will get nothing for him if they send him to the draft but boy are they sending a message to any player that wants out

I like how you are trying to empower GC to send him to the draft to make a point & so your mob can get him for free. Keep dreaming.

Wrong player to send a message with if you ask me! Send a message with a player who has 3rd round value, not a player who can net you a lot back!

Hahahahaha how convenient that EFC has pick 1 this year in the PSD

Of course you want to make that stand,

I still think the threat of sending JOM into the PSD is posturing by GC, surely they want as much as possible for him.

Can't blame EFC for making contact with JOM's management though, they would be negligent not to.
We have been in talks with his management for a fair while like others. As I have previously mentioned Dodoro and Young are good friends so no surprise that the talk is that Young is pushing him towards us.

Of course you want to make that stand,
It would certainly send a message to every other player in the league and the players union.

How do you draw that conclusion, seriously,

Because they are mates ?

Everybody is everyone's mate in the AFL business

I very much doubt he will go in the PSD

As the AFL is still negotiating the new CBA with the AFLPA I suspect it will not want any clubs to not negotiate genuinely for any uncontracted players wanting to be traded to their club of choice. The AFLPA and its members want the free agency qualifying period to be reduced and if clubs start playing "funny buggers" on trades the pressure for this to happen will increase.
This means the AFL and its mediators will try to ensure that trades are done and fair compensation is received.
No doubt ambit claims will be made and the usual argy bargy will take place but ultimately sanity will prevail.
Threats by clubs to force players into the national or pre season draft particularly from the AFL development teams will not happen as the AFL has a vested interest in ensuring fair agreements are reached.
Perhaps Tony Cochrane is not aware that "he who pays the piper.................."
