So telling a kid to tell whatever club drafts him to get stuffed after 2 years and demand a trade to one club only so they can get him cheap is considered fair play?

And here I thought higher of Adelaide supporters.
I didn't comment on the morality of it, just pointed out it wouldn't be draft tampering or coming to terms with a contracted player as was suggested.

Yes, yes that makes sense.

Terrible post. FWIW, I do think Adelaide are the frontrunners, but in reality there's been articles suggesting a number of Vic clubs in the frame, so no, we can't rule out Vic clubs.
I know his family quite well and this whole wanting to come home thing couldnt be further from the truth. James is very intrigued by the whole Melbourne football culture and would be very interested in moving to a Vic based club. I think the Crows are well down the list, he would be more than happy to go anywhere to play footy

And yet his Uncle said he wont be going to Victoria and will never play for Port.
Its that time of the year.

I think a lot of that is tongue in cheek. I see his uncle a few times a week and usually joke about him ending up at Port and he just laughs. Funnily enough he does believe Port has shown more interest than the Crows but he is good mates with KT so they probably have a joke about it. His gut feel is that he will be at Collingwood next year.

There was noise at the time that before he was drafted, i.e. while he wasn't contracted to anyone, we indicated we'd get him home if he wanted to come home after his rookie contract expired.

Also, FYI the AFL threw out Malthouse's vindictive rubbish about Betts and Tippet was not a case of coming to terms with a contracted oppo player at all, suggest reading up.

Maybe he just really liked Crisp and wants to join him at Collingwood?

We should be able to get the deal done with their first, second and...Seedsman.

LOL, yep, Brisbane in the end did pay overs in the Beams deal. Crisp, boy oh boy what a beauty. Probably should have been an untouchable, probably having a better year than any other Brisbane midfielder except maybe Beams. Damn. Should have traded Aish last year IMO, when he had more currency.

Aish playing OK today though.

I was joking but hey, lets make this all about how we lost that trade in every way.

The James Aish trade thread DOES tie in to the Beams (or was is it Crisp) *Jokes* trade thread last year. It will come up from time to time unfortunately.

Edit: It's important to remember that you were the one to bring it up.

Collingwood to self-impose a deadline on negioations and comically break their own deadlie again this time around?
