Looks like Aish didnt want to play well against us. Could be a sign like Tippetts effort against Sydney in the 2012 finals...
Is Tippett is planning to go to the Hawks?

He's not a big game player.

Same as Matt Crouch... Same as Brad Crouch... And Grigg... And Lyons...How many more slow one paced midfielders should we recruit?

Not saying down the track don't look at him... But that pick 9 needs to be for a super quick midfielder otherwise we will not go forward as a team

I wasn't saying "get him". I was saying put up a good reason when arguing to get him. Not "he's from SA and inside the top ten in the draft".

Draft positions are only important nefore and during the draft. After it's all about the ceiling.

You forgot to mention other important stuff like 2 arms, 2 legs and last names with 5 letters, doppelgängers :p

Simon black was a great player for his vision, his movement, the quality of his disposal by hand and foot. He spreads much much better from the contest

If my post had said 'crouchy is exactly the player that Black was at his best' you might have a point but given it was his first year and the fact that he showed flashes of the vision, movement and quality disposal by hand that you have mentioned, i'll happily stick by my post. With experience and development i think MC can become a very similar player to SB.

He is slow dude. Look up his draft camp results and the knocks on his by talents scouts. His biggest knock was lack of speed.

No, his biggest knock was his terrible disposal.

freddy is spot on, he never said aish was slow, he said one paced which we have an abundance of in the midfield. we need good quick outside players that can work both ways, we do not have that atm. our midfield only works one way, its too slow to defend.
its clear as daylight watching us live.

If he's good and we can get him relatively cheap at the end of his contract because he nominates us, I won't say no.;)

This has been my argument from day one.
More than ever we need to draft for need this year and we badly need a big key defender and pace.
Aish doesn't fill our major needs badly enough to use pick 9 this year. In my opinion Lever, Durdin or Goddard should be available with pick 9, I can't see all three going before then. We'll then have another piece of our spine in place.
When Aish comes out of contract we make our play for him.
It is widely known Hawthorn was in Gunston's ear for over a year while Buddy and Tippett's decision to join Sydney didn't happen on the spur of the moment.
We need to be patient and just as determined as those clubs. Keep the contact up,talk casually to his management, friendly player conversations with him,old Norwood team mates dropping suggestions, who knows how the game is played.

The point is that it's darn hard to pry a contracted player out of a team without paying a huge sum. Uncontracted players are different because a club is pressured into a deal or could end up losing that player for unders .It will still cost you a first or second round pick but unrealistic ransoms aren't demanded because the balance of power in the negotiation has swung. This is especially true if the player nominates a club and insist they won't be going back to that old club.... 'Homesickness' seems to carry a lot of weight (am I right Kurt).

Aish is a name I would definitely be targeting, just not this year for we need that pick 9 on more pressing needs.
There's a lot of water to go under the bridge but I'm confident the club will draft for needs this year.

He could be like a mini Sam mitchell he is however nothing like simon black as a player

Sam Mitchell?? Crouch's biggest negatives at school, draft camp and junior footy was his horrible disposal and unwillingness to win a hard ball. Not sure how that translate to Black or Mitchell at all. Not trolling either just giving some input as i went to his school.

How on earth do you get drafted as an inside mid if you are unwilling to win a hard ball.... ;)

Think you're mixing him up with someone else.
