I'm not sure how ....the practice of accumulating a multitude of backend picks for players, as I understand, finishes this year

Next year, I believe, you'll need picks more aligned to where players are bid on

I don't think these F3's we've accumulated are useful at all .....I thought we were fighting to hold a F2, was because we may use the F1 to trade back into this Draft

We could be taking 5 players in next year's draft, it's better having these 'useless' picks in our hands than the club we just traded with. I'd rather select our 2nd-4th players in the 3rd round than even later.

50 down from 273 to 71
54 down from 220 to 14

Our three thirds will probably combine for about the same points as our single pick 42 this year

Outside of pick 1, aren't the values of the picks that are being matched reducing in value as well? So you've got less value to match but what you have to match is worth less as well. Obviously it's geared to eliminate value after the 3rd round, but the drop off isn't absolute.

Yes but the drop isn't as much. Pick 16 down from 1067 to 924 points and the discount is getting cut from 20 to 10 percent

Yep they will need roughly double the amount of picks in the 40s to match a pick around 16. From 2 in the early 40s to 4 or maybe 5

There will be plenty of picks for academy players throughout the whole draft

So if GC want to match 3 in 3rd round it might be handy to have some on hand , even if they get traded into future

Just gives more options all round , even with non-academy clubs

In any case with 2 years of futures up for trade there will be way more flexibility but this just gives us a ‘tiny’ bit more

If we hadn't folded in the ANB deal then we'd have had the extra that we don't want to give up for Peatling. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.

One guy is an in contract 180 game premiership player, multiple good finishes in a B&F - and the other guy is an uncontracted hopefully high ceiling potential good addition

Pearling was always going to go cheaper - and we seemingly didn’t give up anything from ANB deal for this deal
