Happy I watched that as it confirms my worst suspicions on Hird on so many levels. James is in a bad place, he has dissed every person & organisation who may give him work again and has burnt far too many bridges.

34 players would have watched that intently as well as Dr Reid and a host of others and this will open the wounds, pour salt into them and then drink the tequila on hand.

You reap what you sow Essendon. Pity your piss poor board was so inept, it gave Hird everything he wanted.

Well, we do know Dank injected Hird in his office.

We also know Dank and Hird had conversations about the drugs in use and 'thymosin'.

We also know Hird was researching "lactaway", a drug that Dank co-wrote a paper on, and then got frustrated with the fitness staff member who cautioned that it could cause muscle damage.


The things that Hird was not willing to discuss tonight are the deadgiveaway that he's as guilty as sin, and Dank knows where the bodies are buried.

Okay, let's try another tact with you. If Dean Robinson was so incompetent and one of the masterminds of this program, why did your football club give him $1m? And if it's because they now believe he was wrongfully dismissed (this was not a court judgement, this was settled between the two parties), then why tonight did James Hird say they had a meeting about sacking Robinson and Dank but agreed the club could not afford to release them?
Strange you'd cry poor then give someone $1m don't you think? Surely you'd wait for a judge to decide the case? Especially as you had all these people convinced of Robinson's guilt in the saga and incompetence in his position of employment?

No, I'm insinuating that Essendon settled out of court with him. And I'm insinuating that as part of this settlement, they signed a confidentiality agreement that does not allow him discuss the settlement or make public comment on what happened during his time at Essendon. Why they would do that I find very interesting, don't you?

If you're wondering if somebody asked that killer question that left James Hird red faced and admitting "OK, OK, you got me", police entering stage left, handcuffing him, then carting him off in the back of a divvy van to the cheers of the crowd ...

... Then no.

That didn't happen and was never going to.

Right. So he'll give back $1m to EFC, then file suit against Hird on the basis of the interview we just saw, wait possibly years for a defamation payout that may or may not be successful, and you think the award of damages, again based on the frankly moderate statements Hird made tonight, will be $1m, plus inflation, plus the opportunity cost (foregone interest etc) of the $1m Robinson already has.

Were you the one who advised Hird on the prospects of his Federal court action?

CAN ANY DECENT REPORTER interview the junior fitness staff at essendon as THEY WILL TELL THE TRUTH as they have nothing to lose
the journalists in Aus are laughable

James has to go and dust off that civil engineering degree he was awarded all those years ago and go and seek an engineering job so he can learn to build some bridges, buildings, roads and other infrastructure. You can't bullshit and pass the buck when you are responsible for designing and building those structures.
