This would be right. Heff was gone, same with Blumfield.

Caracella was traded by Brisbane after two years for the same reason - suppose Jono Brown and Voss were selfish ****s too (but definitely not Blake$).
In retrospect, I wish you'd held onto Heff and Moorcroft.

Low point when your using a guy that built your list that was stabbed in the back and replaced with a PED program to troll another poster.

Really nothing left to use is there?

Edit: VFL premiship coach Knights better credentials than a under 9 flag

Yeah nah - Knights built nothing. Jimmah spent two years cleaning his shit out and still has a better win:loss record.

Better credentials, you reckon?

VFL flag>>> under 9 flag>>>> PED drug use

At least one will be still be in the AFL system next year

Both good players in a strong team, pretty mediocre otherwise. Same is true of Blumfield who found out about life in the slums when he went to Richmond.

EDIT in fairness to Heff I recall he also had injuries.

Heff was just shit, Moorcroft had constant injuries.

I don't disagree with this, but Hird the player was worth every cent he got. In the world of salary caps that's just the way it is.
Premierships are won by players who are worth more than what they earn.

He needed that extra salary so that he could afford to pay Shane Charter for all the gear he took during his playing career.

Hird was a drug cheat as both player and coach.

And apparently he cops it tough from the media/fans/afl poor guy

Ask neutral supporters who'd they would've rather had coaching their club over the past two years -Hird or Knights- and I think you'd find Knights WAY ahead.

Get back to me when Caro does the research and writes an article.

Oh goody, another Hird thread

Say what you like, but Knights was a failure as a coach - there is no denying that.

Heff, Blumfield and Caracella were valuable contributors in that premiership team - it was clearly unfortunate the club could not keep the entire list together.

The 'player retention' allowance the Lions enjoyed at the time would've been handy, wouldn't it?

Fair enough paying one of the greatest players ever in the AFL whatever he wants.

If three C-graders had to make way then so be it.
....and its precisely that kind of attitude which has seen your club win stuff-all ever since. ;):thumbsu:
