The 2021 season surely gets delayed due to COVID. The 2020 season will end late and they'll want the delay to get rid of any lingering COVID effects on crowds.

So, if we're in the mix for finals, 12 months out gives Sicily a chance to get back.
If we want to rebuild, then missing 2021 isn't going to effect that for Sis and he can prime for 2022.

2020 the Damian Barrett of seasons!!!
Good luck on your rehab Sis, you'll be back better than ever mate.
We're not sooks at HFC, we get on with the job. It is what it is guys. All this talk of next year being a write off is a bit disheartening actually.
We'll get games into kids & start another rebuild all good guys.
A positive may be that we find someone to fill the void left by Sis & when he does come back he will be played forward a lot more.

The Tiges won a Flag without Rance.... I know, tongue in cheek comment, just trying to put a positive spin on news that the club just did not need.

Do you rekon we could get Hodgey back?

Hartley probably gets a year extension now? Think we are going to need him.

The only thing now that could make 2020 the year from hell....is Geelong winning it.

Shit news, wish him all the absolute best with his recovery.

One positive is that Will Day will have more responsibility, and he strikes me as the type of player who thrives on that. He has been immense so far and he will only get better.

Small positive, i know, but when Sis comes back you could (will) be absolutely lethal off half back.

Fork in the road moment for the list. Will have a huge ripple effect on list decisions too. He's our best player and touted leader.

Only solace is that we're stacked in that part of the ground. Others will step up.

Think Chip just earned himself another year. We're gonna need the experience and leadership back there.

As sad as it is losing an A grader and prob our best player for 12 months.....gives opportunities for others

I’d start with bringing in Patton / Lewis as a duo forward combination for the remaining games and seeing how they perform together. This would force TOB down back to replace Sicily....to see how he goes as a defender for the last 6 games

He will come back fine.we have a better team than the performances and people seem to realise.Sicily and hawthorn will be back.

Sorry for the intrusion.
I have come to wish Sicily the best in his recovery.

Really like the way he goes about it and enjoy watching him play, when it's not against us.

ACL sucks and to happen so late is just really unfair too.

Best of luck to him for the recovery and road ahead.

Scratching for positives but so often the dominance of one player can be the detriment of others - Worps had a great 2019 because Mitchell wasn't there getting the ball 40+ times a game. Now Worps and Tom are fighting over the same pill. We won 2 flags once Buddy left as suddenly other players got a look in inside 50.
This could only help Day, Scrimshaw, Frost et al. The more ball they get, the better they'll be at getting it and disposing of it.

Gutted for Sis and the club, and all of us supporters. Was hoping for just Medial, but watching Clarko, and how devastated he looked, made me worried.
Although he will be out for a while, he will be in full training by start of next year and will be back for finals. Yes, I think we can play finals next year.
All the best Sis.

He has time, but it's possible James Sicily retires from AFL someday with zero All Australian jumpers when he was an absolute shoe-in in both 2018 and 2020 before injury struck him down.

He will miss the entirety of 2021 and hopefully come back raring to go in 2022 when our team looks vastly different and hopefully, with an injection of youth, is pushing the top 8 again.

It's the hit to his legacy that hurts the most. He thoroughly deserves two All Australian jumpers to this point in his career.

Keep in mind when he was drafted. He has missed two premierships to go along with all of this.

Devastating news for Sic. All the best for the recovery.

He has matured so much as a player the last couple of years. I would have rubbished any talk of captaincy material a couple of years ago but pre this injury he would have been my choice to lead the hawks next season.

Massive shoes to fill but this could also be the making of Scrim with the extra responsibility that someone has to pick up.

Sorry to read this and best of luck to James in his recovery.

Love watching him play and footy is worse for him not being out there.

Just hope that recovery goes smoothly and we see him out there late next season, or the season after - fingers crossed he doesn't 'do a Docherty'.
