Been dealt some harsh blows by the footy gods since the three peat. Mitchell broken leg, Impey knee, Cyril retiring but this one almost trumps them all.
Looking like it’s gonna be a challenging couple of years while we rebuild ourselves back into contention..:'(

This is terrible news for him and the club.

He's been our best intercept player, provides a lot of drive off half back.

Interestingly this year when you look at score involvements from our backs Blake Hardwick is leading the way with 21, then Scrimshaw at 18, Sicily at 16 and Day with 15

When you think about the fact that Day and Scrimmers have played almost half the games this season as Sis and Dimma I'm hoping this will give them both an opportunity to get even more ball flow through them as they have shown the ability to be dangerous with it

Hoping this wasn't the case, commiserations, understand how you feel, like when Nic Nat did his first ACL against hawks in 2016, its just utterly disappointing and sad for him and supporters of footy. But he'll be back, doesn't make it feel any better right now I know...
Yeah. And didn’t Ceglar do his ACL in the same match? It’s a cruel occupation at such times.

Just when 2020 was going awful, it writes 2021 off to.

Ah well, we will just need to invest heavily in the draft. Which was thr right play even pre Sic ACL

Would have to happen at this point of the year too where it's going to write off most of next season too.

Hopefully something positive can come from his time out of the side. That others step up in his absence and we discover a few players we might not have otherwise.

And hopefully this removes any temptation that we might be able to top-up again, and instead we just commit to the draft.

The only silver lining is it'll make the decision to rebuild an eaiser one - and we still have a number of games left in the year for Clarko to observe how we perform without him.

Look at it this way guys - if our football team is destined to have a couple of shit years what better time to bank them than during pandemic-affected seasons?
Our Chief Medical Officer isn't predicting a vaccine for 12-18 months so 2021 will probably wind up being just as compromised as 2020, a perfect opportunity for James to put his feet up while we regroup & prepare for the future.

The season has been terrible but this is a true disaster. He is one of only a couple pieces that we could have real confidence in over the next couple seasons. He's now gone for 2021. You'd think that takes him out of captaincy discussion for next year too. This puts a real dent in our plans moving forward.
