It’s a very weak case.
Most real indigenous people do not care.
I agree. I'm just saying the rallies today aren't about doing that. They're about giving First Nations people and the Blak sovereignty movement in particular a place to speak and be listened to without being interrupted or disapproved of. I'm not surprised if that results in the outpouring of a lot of anguish people might feel forced to keep inside the rest of the year.
RubbishThey would not last 30 minutes.
lol. Attention seekersBecause of solidarity amongst different groups of oppressed peoples. At the rally I went to, a Yugarapul man spoke about how his people and Palestinians are both victims of genocide, but the genocide of his people was in the past and the Palestinian one is happening now. He then led the crowd in a chant of Free Palestine. Later a representative of the local Palestinian community spoke about the great respect and solidarity he and his community had for the local First Nations people and his desire to learn what remains of their language.
not even Japan in WW2 planned to invade Australia (confirmed by the Japanese PM after the war).
The diggers invading Turkey in 1915 were certainly not fighting for Australian freedom, Nor against the Boers, or in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and the disgrace that was Afghanistan. Don’t give me the rubbish that the Anzacs were fighting for freedom. They never were and they never have.
The deputy leader of the party who wants to be the new government today said the country was like an uninhabited planet when the first fleet rocked up.
They have at least 50 different languages. What a moron.
You seem to live in some Nirvana that Australia would never have been discovered and/or inhabited.
Good for them. I have more respect
For them than the half wits in the metropolitan cities.
Definitely the latter
Yes but it gives an opportunity with good faith of going forwardIf the date was changed it wouldn't make any difference to the past, or to the future outcomes of people identifying as Aboriginal. A bit like when Kevin Rudd said sorry.
It might even lose the focus for the protests against 'invasion day'.
Systems can’t have been that great given they were taken over by a fleet of ships containing just under 1500 people - many of whom arrived against their will.Holy shit mate listen to your words.
“Never been DISCOVERED or INHABITED”
There were almost a million human beings living on this country in 1788 speaking over 200 languages and were already trading with Makassans in Indonesia. They had systems of beliefs, laws, justice, family and governance.
That’s EXACTLY the point people are trying to make. It’s not even a question of whether the British or someone else would have been better. It’s not admitting that there were human beings here before 1788 like we were ****ing Mars
Pride protestorsLast post you said these towns were so scary that inner city protesters would be beaten there within 30 minutes
So what is it?
I'm sure 75 years ago the majority were against Aboriginal people having equal rights and 25 years ago the majority were against same-sex marriage. Things can change very quickly.Slim margin on the aboriginal side for a date change and much the other way overall. It’s not a strong case.
Sure you have mate, sure you have. Whatever helps you sleep at night. One thing I do have is no guilt for something I haven’t done… infact I’ve probably helped more indigenous in my work life than you have met.
I mean they're too stupid to realise both those places have LGBTI+ people, so why would they bother looking to see whether they have such events? If you’d bothered to look both Dubbo and Alice Springs will be hosting Survival Day events

Let’s stop romantasicing it please.
Dude...
You’ve obviously got no idea. Might be ok to be an indigenous homosexual in Fitzroy or Collingwood but try that in the remote areas and they would barely last 5 minutes. And that is fact.
Believe what you want to believe.Holy **** mate your posts are just ignorant and disgusting.
There is a vibrant LGBT community in Alice Springs with many indigenous members. The plot of one of Australia’s best ever movies involves LGBT people driving to Alice Springs.

Yes. Hence my statement. You seem very naive.Did you click on the page? Do you believe your own eyes?
Not painting them as weak. Just that homosexuality is not part of Indigenous culture.
What is a real Aboriginal?
