Opinion Jarryd Lyons - Are midfielders supposed to take this long?

Nothing to do with not rating him, I love the bloke and have been calling for him to be played the last 4 years, but they need to re-jig the midfield and he's the only one of worth there at the moment. We won't get anything (and probably can't) trade Douglas and Mackay and Thommo is likely to suck up a lot of minutes again anyway.

Thommo would be licking his lips at Lyons leaving, pushes him a spot up which leaves him only having to remain ahead of CEY, Wigg and Grigg. And it's doubtful that all 3 will remain. It's a genius move to keep Thommo in the best 22, force out players in front of him.

Maybe the AFC could take part in a reality TV show called "The Bloke" where clubs draft players with low draft picks, pump games into them and turn them into a good/decent player before trying to flip them for a higher pick.

I think the crows would call the show 'The Apprentice'
4 years tolling away in the 2's before getting the flick

Am amazed how poorly some of the Crows rate Jarryd Lyons. Has very few poor games when given an opportunity and is now coming into his prime. It is interesting that Mark Bickley does not give Jarryd too much credit in his resumes of players needed by the Crows. Bickley was an assistant at the Crows in Lyons' earlier days as well when he was given very few opportunities despite good SANFL form.
Many of my fellow supporters who watch the Crows rate Lyons' highly on actual game standards and not on potential like some other players. What am I missing? I do not want Jarryd Lyons traded. We have put the time and effort into making him a very good AFL player whose experience will be needed next year. Pay him what he is worth and keep him!

Today on the second day of trade we find that SIX clubs are interested in him and a counter offer has been put to the Crows signifying Jarryd Lyons would like to stay. Sign him!

Thompson should have been delisted and his cost added to lyons offer.

Way too much is being made of the 'six clubs are interested' line. It was an off the cuff number and there was absolutely no conviction when he said it. Im sure Winston would like the Crows to think 6 clubs are interested. Im tipping he has spoken to 6 or so clubs, I doubt 6 clubs contacted him.

Time to get them into a room,
"Ok who will start the bidding with a second round pick"
5 mins latter and the hammer falls "SOLD! to Brisbane for Rocky and a 2nd round pick, please pay at the cashier before you leave"

Does not quite work this way Truck25. The player decides where he wants to go, after talking to the clubs, and then the clubs work the trade.
