I think he has been told there is a few blokes in front of him and that he will struggle to get a game so he took an easy way out instead of working his butt off to get in the team
Agree.

George retires, I guess had he retired 2 weeks ago, we could also have picked up Narkle. Can only pick up Narkle now on mid-season draft
Don't think we need Narkle, would rather give one of our youngsters games in George's position. Selfless by George but maybe he realized his chances of playing first team football were slim. Plenty ahead of him in the picking order IMO.

If the desire is gone and you've got every inch out of yourself and there's nothing more to give, then you pull the pin. That's the team thing to do.

You don't coast along just so you pick up your cheque. In an elite environment everyone has to be 100% all in and if you can't, you let the team down. Well done George. Three time premiership player and seems like a bloody good bloke.

Best of luck for the future and thanks for the crazy memories !

Bloody hell. Not only do you all hang shit on him constantly which may have led to this decision but when he retires, you question why he didn't do it sooner so we could have taken someone else.
Now I'm not saying that it's not a valid question but how about, as an outlandish idea, instead of potting the bloke on the way out we are a bit more supportive of a three time premiership player who could have won a Norm Smith if he kicked straight.
The guy has given his all to the RFC and should be treated with the respect he deserves on his way out.

Have a bit of class about yourselves.
