Sad to see the prince of pandemonium retire. The chaos boss. The doyen of designless. The ruling rex of random. In my time of watching footy only Crazyhorse Cowton rivals George for the title of the king of confusion. There are opposition teams the length and bredth still scratching their heads wondering how Castagna single-handedly won those three flags for us. :)

He reminded me of Inspector Clouseau. Didn’t always look like he knew what he was doing, but always got it done in the end.

Thanks to Jason Castagna for a lot of pleasure, and a great contribution to the Richmond Football Club.

Not worried about the timing. It gives the recruiting staff something to do before the mid season draft.

Breaking News

Jason Castagna appointed new kicking coach at Geelong Football Club and will coach alongside his former team mate Shaun Grigg
Cats seem to be doing everything right

**** me, was equal with the Tiger GOAT

"He and champion teammate Dustin Martin were the only Tigers to boot 25 goals or more in each of the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons; such was his consistency throughout that period."

If the desire is gone and you've got every inch out of yourself and there's nothing more to give, then you pull the pin. That's the team thing to do.

You don't coast along just so you pick up your cheque. In an elite environment everyone has to be 100% all in and if you can't, you let the team down. Well done George. Three time premiership player and seems like a bloody good bloke.

Best of luck for the future and thanks for the crazy memories !

Really weird decision. Even if he saw the writing on the wall in terms of getting a game this season you can't tell me that he wouldn't have found a spot on another teams list (and AFL side) in the future

Thanks George! Great contribution to all three premierships.

And was just 180 degrees off pinching Dusty’s 2019 Norm Smith (6 shots missing by an average of 30 degrees).

It's pretty s**t to retire this close to the season starting. Why not do it a few months ago and the club can give the list spot to someone else? Otherwise surely just tough it out for one more season and see how things go
Maybe due to the injury he sustained recently, few weeks on the sidelines and some time to think if he wants to put in the work again

No point looking at the negatives and concentrate on the positive

Welcome to the AFL list Luke Teal

remember when rancey did it and then we won the flag

Georgie won more flags in 130 games than Collingwood have won in 65 years. Let that sink in lol
I believe 130 games means Tigers can claim any father-son prospects.

That is assuming he can aim straight enough to get the job done.
