No we willingly and bloodlessly changed the board, the coach and virtually the entire playing list because that period from '95 to '99 was our worst ever. We had another 2 years getting it all in order.
Unlike your illustrious mob who took 20 odd years to make the finals in the late 80's and then slipped back into the depths of their normal post 1964 mediocrity. Eventually they made another finals series only to revert to form and squabble amongst themselves, destroying yet another season and cannibalising the board and the man who saved your sorry arses from extinction. Of course in true Melbourne tradition the saving was not selfless and came at a price. Instead of merging with Hawthorn you were taken over by Diamond Joe, which was all fine until the money ran out and another bloody coup ensued.
Being true professionals though things are looking up this year. You've only lost 2 quality midfielders due to complete incompetency so far.
We have not been successful in recent years. However we have made the finals many more times than Melbourne since 1964, but we do not go around bragging about it as if making the finals is the ultimate goal.
At Collingwood we embrace the future. Making the finals is not good enough. It seems to be for you though, good on you.
Please don't tell me you are not one of the MCC melbourne supporters who turn on poor Neale Daniher after every loss??
I dont recall posting that we are the best team going around. However our future is looking good.
How about you put your efforts into supporting Melbourne Football club and stop being jealous of our football club

You can have heffernan. We'll gladly take woey. I remember a few demons fans praising woey for years. Superstar they would say. He picked up 450 possies last year so he'll fit in nicely at Pie Park. 'He wont need more than 15 touches as he wont be carrying a midfield like he did at Melbourne.
