Missed out on the AA 22 under 22 squad. Shows why football popular votes are a joke.
Selectors of these types of things, and I would even suggest umpires, base their decisions on what social circles of AFL players they can mix in to feel relevant. In simple terms, player x invited me to his bbq, or I hope player x invites me to his bbq = an extra vote in awards or blind eye to indiscretions on and off field while gushing about how gooda human player x is.

He's Judd like powering away from a stoppage. Lighting quick and as strong as an ox.

Rozee and Butters use some of the best footwork in the history of the league to wrongfoot defenders, JHF is just puts on the afterburners and knows he can't be tackled, keeping his eyes upfield and hitting targets lace out.

Unbelievable situation to find ourselves in to have 3 guys of this quality so young and so close in age.
We just need to keep having Hayes (and later Dante) providing them service and there'll be no question next year of the best midfield across the league. The only thing stopping that is Hinkley effectively leaving the handbrake on a fast car, by playing Lycett or Teakle (or Finalyson) as ruck.

Grundy?

If only it was left Up to the umpires

Should be done by a panel like the Rising Star.

Honestly how JHF is not in that team is laughable. Football Logies.

Eh
I can see how you would think that all the mids bar smith (who gets on reputation being the oldest player in the side being a young draftee) have had better years than JHF

He was in the extended squad.

Who's the bright spark that thought it would be a good idea to make the final 22 under 22 a popular fan vote and then take this seriously?

who's the bright spark who decides it's an "under 22" team and players like bailey sniff (who turns 23 in december) are in it?

if it's 22 under 22, then the players should be under 22 when the team is announced. seems a pretty basic concept.

Have to be under 23 on the last day in September hence why butters didn't qualify

Which young trio were you more excited for at the time

Wingard, Wines, Polec vs Butters, Rozee and JHF

I truly believed in 2015 that Wingard would turn into a champion player. Shame what happened.

Butters, Rozee and JHF seem to be reaching their best earlier than the other three.

The current three. There's a genuine competitor & a hate losing edge particularly with Zak & Jason that tips it quite easily for me. They'll max their talent.

Butters rise this year changed it all. We were all pinned on Rozee and hope JHF would become great in a few years too, but suddenly we have 2 superstars and an elite rookie coming through. Its a game changer. Whilst Wines, Boak, Drew, etc are now just the amazing additional talent, making this current crop just phenomenal. Its been said many times but this is clearly the best midfield we've had in the AFL.

Butters, Rozee and JHF and its not even remotely close

In fact if you asked me Wingard, Wines + Polec combined, or JHF.... still JHF, and still not close.
