I solved this long equation once and it was correct. Doesn't mean everytime I attempt an equation that I am going to be correct.
If you attempted 10 equations and each one you only have a 1/18th chance of getting right , yet out of the ten you've gotten 4 correct and came very close two other times I would say you're a gun and I should probably have faith in your equation solving ability. You've proven it.

Not a big loss. In 2013 Simpkin got the nod ahead of Anderson in the Grand Final, 2014 Finals series in the Qualifying Final and Preliminary Final, Simpkin again got selected ahead of Anderson. I don't understand the hype about him. He plays one decent game in the pre-season and everybody wrote him down as a best 22 player. His form in the VFL was average. He was behind both Hartung and Langford in the pecking order all season and nothing changed. Every year we lose one young player outside the best 22 who wants more opportunities at another club. Who knows, we may end up getting a decent draft pick/player in return who turns out to be better then Anderson.
Well said and perfectly sums up my thoughts too. He played less than 10 games and we are drooling as if we lost Dunston of 90s.

I understand that he wants more games buit he doesn't have that long to wait, doesn't he?

Mitchell and Hodgey are all goers soon and with burgoyne turning 33 in a few weeks he is right up there in the pecking order

We are also home to some of the best trainers in the league. Look at what we did to sewell, duryea, puopolo, guerra, langford, litherland, the list goes on. He should know he will become a much better player if he decides to stay at hawthorn.

And let's not forget he is crucial to our team structure. First Hallahan, then Woodward now Anderson. After that we have O'Rourke... thats it.

So if we negotiate a trade with someone, it needs to be more than a 1st round pick. Even if it was top 10

Who the f*** is 'Dunston of the 90's' & why could we not afford to lose him?

losing Hale, Lake and Suckling will ease the cap pressure - we will pay Jed more (like we are doing with Shoey) and he will stay.

The real challenge for the club is getting serious game time into Hartung, Anderson, Litherland, Langford, O'Rourke, Sicily and Willsmore while keeping the success of the club going.

I think at least three of those guys need to become regulars - Suckling opens up one spot but I don't see where else a spot is coming from unless we have some major injuries.

Hope we keep him, but if he goes then I would rather send him to Brisbane or Carlton, don't want him at a club that is playing finals. Straight swap for Aish or package him to Carlton and try and get Henderson.

I doubt we could straight swap him for Aish. Probably like Jed + Second/Third round pick for Aish. Aish has shown more at AFL level than Jed and was a high draft pick. So, we would probably need to sweeten the deal.

Still. Hawks and Lions should push for a JED-AISH swap. Brissy saves face, Hawks maintain youth prospects and both ditch players who don't want to be there.

Hmmm surely an Aish-Anderson swap wouldn't be too bad? Certainly would save face for them.

Or Treloar... Sounds like Pies struggling to cut a deal?

Aish or Treloar for Anderson with a swap of picks? We can easily swap our first round for their second, it's only a 1-pick difference.

You can probably disregard any hypothetical deal that sees Jed returning to a club he didn't want to be at the first time around.

Would rather retain him. There's always something a bit more special about kids that come through the system at your club from day dot. Has all the tools and I think he'll become a solid AFL level player somewhere. I hope it's at Hawthorn.

this x 100

Pissweak. Needs to take a look at schoey.

Yep, he is talented but he's missed a lot of weeks to injury or what not, it's up to him to string the games together rather than taking the easy option of going to a cellar dweller. If this is the case and he does want to take the easy way out then it shows abit about his work ethic and how much he wants it

Why would we pay him more? He can't even get a regular game for us, hardly deserving of a pay rise. I would rather see players like Duryea and Shiels get more money.

I got a feeling Anderson wants out because he knows he is going to struggle to get games considering he is competing with Hartung, Litherland, Langford who have all shown more than him at AFL level and then there are O'Rourke, Simpkin, Sicily and Howe all looking for game time as well.

If he turns into a superstar at another club so be it, good luck to him. If he's not willing to improve and force his way into our team we don't need him at our club, look at Schoey, he chose to stay and do what was required to improve and force his way into the team when he lost his spot last year to Spangher and then the club brought in Frawley to boot. Schoey could have taken the easy option and left the club but he chose to stay and was rewarded with a premiership after improving himself and becoming a better player then I thought he would ever be, he proved me wrong and I've got immense respect for him now. It's these sort of players that make a strong culture at a footy club.
