AFC will most likely offer a 2nd round for him so will be interesting to see if hawks want another sweeteener and whether AFC will give any more

Apparently he has a brother he is close to playing for north Adelaide and 2 kids ?

A 3 yr contract would be handy having 2 kids , how many yrs did he just sign for ( apologies if it's been mentioned )

I think we'll be taking to Brissy regarding Aish before the crows

No to second round.

Anderson showed plenty in 13. Missed 14 with injury and a illness that would have undone any conditioning he'd achieved. Essentially he was starting from behind scratch this year. Any talk of him only being worth a second rounder or worse, those saying he's a only bit part vfl player is just ridiculous. At least wait and see how he goes in his second year back from injury.

Inherantly has great aggression when he plays his football which is something that really stands out for me and unfortunately very few of today's youngsters coming through have.

Very true, aggression has been replaced by basketball toughness lol

You might recall we also threepeated...
Irrelevant. We had plenty of passengers throughout the year that deserved to be dropped. Hill, Suckling, Puopolo, and even Breust went missing in chunks. Duryea even got dropped a few times, but instead of awarding a 6 goal 25 touch performance they went with Howe to play a game. Nothing against Howe, will be a fine player. But what would Anderson have been thinking when he was in better form?

I'm told he is in Darwin, would be surprised if he attended the B&F.

Had trouble with his preparation this year, wasn't getting a lot of sleep before games (those damn kids).
His brother Joe plays with Derick Wanganeen in Adelaide (he's close to both of them), but keen to go anywhere he can get more senior game time.

If west coast is his option, then I'm getting thoroughly fed up with west coast plagiarising us. First our assistant coach, then game plan, then X Ellis, then our opposition analyst. Even our pre game slogans got taken. Now our best young midfielder (which he is, admittedly on potential though).

Before you know it, they'll try and take a grand final victory off us.....
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery...

I'd like to think that Clarko winning a threepeat means he got something right!

We won the damn Grand Final, mate!

Plenty of hype in here for a bloke that has played 10 games.
Are some of you still drunk from last weekend?

#standbywright

Same hysteria on this board last year about Hallahan - he was going to be the next Kennedy.

We overrate our VFL players here. If he was half as good as the hyperbole on here, he'd be getting regular game time. He's a burst player who shows flashes in the VFL.

Swap him for someone like Aish and its like for like.

Agree with these 2 posts. I have never really understood all the hype over Anderson.

He has plenty of potential and talent but so do most kids on AFL lists. All I have seen is flashes of ability but nothing that has me worried about him leaving.

What sets Hawthorn apart from most clubs is you have to truley earn your spot in our team, and you need to do your apprenticeship. Look at guys like Duryea, Langford, Litherland who have done long apprenticeships and still aren't automatic selections in our team.
Guys like Langford couldn't get a game towards the end of the year and he is more deserving of a spot in our current set up then Anderson. If you aren't willing to stay and fight/earn your spot by improving as far as I'm concerned you can f off.
And lets be honest, guys like Anderson aren't that hard to find. Who does he truly replace in our line up?

A lot of young guys have looked very promising when getting games for Hawthorn but when they leave they look limited at other clubs.

Yep, Simpson rates him so West Coast the danger.

Without enough exposed AFL form, his trade value after 3 sporadic VFL seasons is far below his potential.

Exactly. You cant take it for granted, our coaching staff just led us to a 3peat and this poster wants to tell them how to do their job. Clarko backed those players in all year, when it came to gf day they were 100% confident they could do it.

Let's be serious Hallahan doesn't have a quarter the talent or mongrel that Jed has.
He won't be leaving as we won't get a worthy deal for him.

Who is more talented & likely to be the better player with a full run at it.

O'Rourke or Anderson?
Reasonable, but not a fair comparison. Anderson gets lost in the midfield and but looks like an AFL standard small forward. JOR is all mid and should end up a clever playmaker. In terms of pure midfielder I like Billy, Langers, JOR and Howe more than Jed. If Jed stays he would be lucky to get 6 games next season.
