What a piss weak world that he had to release a statement to provide context ..

😂😂😂

No he had to clarify things because he did such a piss poor job of expressing himself initially.

Lol a statement to clarify comments about being pissed off about getting a 3 game and career threatening suspension. Lol how soft are we getting as a society.

Nah what's soft is not taking the hit you deserved and moving on, instead of still carrying on about it over a week later.

All he said was that he was pissed off about getting suspended. I'm sure SPP was pissed off he got suspended too and missed the first 4 games of the season. Are players normally happy to be suspended? I guess he should've provided the context because everyone jumped to the conclusion that he was pissed off about the length of penalty, but he is actually just pissed off at himself. How dare he.

Jeebus ducking christ the amount of people offended by this are gonna lynch the bloke as they have nothing more meaningful in their lives to aspire to.

Meanwhile the comments about Sydney's stabbings go through to the keeper.

Piss poor form from the majority and a massive reflection of a society under the influence of media driven distaste.

Why say anything publicly? What does it change? How does it help?

All it did was make his original apology look insincere, and it was the sincerity of the apology that saved him from 5-6 weeks off.

Even if that's what he meant, his phrasing was very poor and it came out sounding like he's pissed he got suspended, not that he's upset at himself.

Maybe skip the podcast, or don't tall about, or say no comment, or just say I stuffed up. There are so many ways around it.

He did a stupid thing and now he's got egg on face again.

No one is lynching him FFS. What the **** has the Sydney stabbing got to do with anything?

Him putting his foot in his mouth again was always gonna be a media story.

At what point does he take some responsibility for himself, instead of blaming it on society?

I'll regret asking but what the **** are you talking about?

This is what happens when words are taken out of the context of a verbal conversation and put in print by a media hungry for sensationalist headlines. Would have been better off leaving the podcast up so people could hear it in context and understand the tone and nature of the conversation that was had. Should he have just shut up? Maybe... It would have made life easier. But as a society, you have to be stupid to take what you see in black and white at face value these days. Everyone fancies themselves a marketing manager these days and will be quick to point out "the optics". People are also looking for every reason to pile on, it's a competitive sport. Look at the extents people went through o try and sink Butters, for the advantage and for the headlines.

Looking at the the news articles, it appears there was no context given when he said it, which looked pretty ordinary, hence the clarification statement

Silly really, didn't need to say anything more about it

FFS you say it in your own words it's a media lynching, and all the high horse Betty's get uppity and criticise him instead of looking at their own pissweak existences.

If you haven't bothered to look into any context where the sydney stabbings are relevant in his interview, move on, or look it up yourself for context.

But no, just run with the media line and your media driven existence.
