Howe is no certainty to be in our best back 6 or best forward 6.No we didn't.
We traded 2 blokes who aren't in our best 22 for a bloke who will be.
Bent over? Yeah, nah.

Well, to Dave it's not just a thread. It's just a thread lol....
Swan probably the biggest improver in the last 20 years.Rhyce Shaw, Heath Shaw, Jaensch, Douglas, Caff, Redden, Watson, Stokes etc etc etc

Yours were all good examples, probably the Watson one being the closest to Swan.Jeez... talk about as plain as the nose on my face.

Swan wasn't playing for Melbourne in 2009 though.Swan 2009 = Howe 2015 in terms of age. He was already a genuine superstar of the AFL by the time he was Howe's age - the improvement after that was minimal, he was already fully developed and playing at his peak. This is the point I'm making about Howe, and that the Pies must be pleased with what he produced at Melbourne because that is more or less what he'll produce at Collingwood.

Why aren't you responding to the list I gave you?
Don't respect? Joy?Well, to Dave it's not just a thread.
That's the thing. He has been quite open about his condition & if you don't respect that, then fine.
All I asked was what joy does someone get from trying to piss him off?
I couldn't disagree more and nor could Geelong and Hawthorn's list managers I suspect but we have had this debate a=before so there isn't much point repeating it.

I respectfully disagree.

When Swan was 24 he averaged 24.6 possessions a game.
After he turned 25 he averaged 30.8. That was when he peaked.
Swan's age in 2009 is identical to Howe's in 2015. Howe turns 26 in January.
So very pedantic

My comment was that Swan significantly improved after he turned 25.Maybe so, but the point stands. At the age he is, his improvement from here is not going to go on a greater trajectory than it already has throughout his career. If you're expecting 40 or more goals from him just because he's moving to a better team you're kidding yourself.
Whether Howe improves after he turns 26 is unknown but we are all hopeful.
Not a whole lot. Intercept spoiling is decent, as his his set shot from an angle. Just don't give it to him straight in front!Apart from standing on blokes heads, what are this blokes strengths?

Don't know why you'd be angry with me. I've watched the guy for five years. The fact that his hangars are so consistent, he's probably the best we've seen in the last 50 years, means that he's played 100/101 games. If he was an excellent handballer, or a really good intercept mark, he may have found games harder to come by. As it stands, his greatest strength is so unique that it hides his weaknesses. The ideal game from Howe is up forward, with five or six marks, 15 touches and two or three goals. An ideal Howe game, or something close to it, happens three of four times a season. Unfortunately, even though he leads up the wing, he often drops the mark that he needs to take to be the next link in the chain. When he takes them on the boundary he dobs them, but then he fluffs his lines from right in front. It's hard to be angry with someone who's username is Tulip.

Not sure whether its a crack at the floral nature of the name on your behalf, but its in honour of Robert Flower.
