Charlie 'Jets' Cameron taking over from he who shan't be mentioned as our representative in the G/F Sprint this season....interesting to see how quick he is over 100m. Hope he doesn't do a Brodie Smith!!

Cameron turns on Jets for GF Sprint

Charlie Cameron will light up the MCG on Saturday in the annual AFL Grand Final Sprint.
In his first Grand Final Sprint start, Cameron will be out to deliver Adelaide’s fourth crown in five years following on from the success of three-time winner, Patrick Dangerfield. Dangerfield won the event in three straight years between 2011 and 2013.
Brodie Smith represented the Crows last year. Defending champion Jordan Murdoch (Geelong) won't be back to defend his title after having hand surgery at the end of the season.
‘Jets’ Cameron is one of 18 players split into two heats, who will compete for the honour of being crowned the AFL's fastest man. The heats will be held prior to the Grand Final, with the race itself to be held at half time of the decider.
Richmond's Anthony Miles, St Kilda veteran Leigh Montagna, Melbourne forward Jay Kennedy-Harris, Sydney Swans utility Dean Towers, North Melbourne's Majak Daw and Collingwood son of a gun Darcy Moore could are all in the mix to take out the title. Two taxi drivers will also run as part of 13 CABS sponsorship of the race.
The sprint was first held on Grand Final Day in 1977. Originally over a mile, the distance was changed to 100m in 1979. The race wasn’t held between 1987 and 2001, but was reintroduced in 2002.
