This. Highlight of the game for me. While the commentators fapped over JOM, Lindsay was so slick in the middle in that first quarter. giantroo if you're up for it, I'd love to see the highlights. Smart and executed well by hand and foot. In the second half, the skid/fall down, then handball off was clever too. Demeanour also seemed what we've wanted for a while now too; it's like it's clicked that he's part of the older brigade and just went about it.

But what did the commentators say (on another occasion), "Lindsay tried to duck into that one." or similar. The commentating to expectations and draft pick status ground my gears.

I only watched the last quarter, but a few of the commentators were quick to lay the boot into the side as a whole and suck up to the usual hawks.

To be fair it was extremely well publicised that it was a sellout. I agree that the crowd looked like there was plenty of room for more, but I guess calculating the capacity at a stadium without seating would be challenging.

McEvoy, Burchall, Burgoyne, Smith and Pupolo missing from their usual best 22 by my reckoning.

Whereas we were missing Wood, Jacobs, Wright, Brown, Waite, Gibson and Harvey.

A bit more even than they're giving credit for.

Dumont's game being incredibly underrated in here. His kicking around the ground is fantastic. He times his handballs perfectly to give his teammates as much space as possible. Also covering the ground a lot better.

Hibberd was good. At ground level his workrate was fantastic. Bit scrappy, but he found the footy and used it well on occasions.

Zuhaar is going to be a gem. Speedy,
Nuggets and uses the footy well. Looks like a natural footballer.

Simpkin is going to be very special. Has that vision and agility to find space and time. Little bit pendelbury like. Good skills too.

Pruess firming for round 1 ahead of Daw for mine. Can't let games like that go unrewarded. He uses his body so so we'll in the contest!

Mountford, EVW and Durds all play round one. Gibson, Swallow out.

Is it you or naturally north that has been fairly critical of Durdin's endeavor and attitude in the past? If you, what is it that you've seen/heard that has changed this preseason? He's been really impressive in the two matches so far and should be playing round 1.

-Dumont worked into the game well. Just uses the ball going inside footy better than anyone. He, Higgins, Thomas and Simpkin need to have the ball in hand around the arcs.
-Hrovat is going to suit is nicely this year. Excellent pickup,
-Nice to have Robbie back. Thompson playing on the third defender is a must.
-Atley to the midfield seems to be paying high dividends thus far.

All in all, great day at the footy.

Also I sound like a hater but I cant see how Swallow plays round 1 if not for his status at the club.
The play in the 3rd quarter where we were out on the Arden St wing, we had a 5 on 1 and we managed to **** it up.
If not by hand then the kick inside 50 missed the target.
Thankfully it was mopped up and a dribble shot on goal was going through before Swallow grabbed it on the line, fumbled and conceded a rushed behind.
Deadset I was livid. Full lost my shit. And yes its a practice match but ****, if this shit is going to happen in season - I cant cop it.

I had heard he was overly committed to the job. Seems to be poor information.

Anywho.... I think Arden St is a small oval and our run 'n' gun style will light up the wide expanses of Etihad. Exciting times peeps.
