When: Sunday March 12 1:10pm Hickinbotham Oval
TV: Fox Footy (Live)
The final JLT game for Hawthorn against Port Adelaide this Sunday before taking on Essendon in 16 days time. Hawthorn will head into this game with nearly a full list to choose from apart from Daniel Howe and Jonathon Ceglar.
This weeks team will likely resemble the side that takes on Essendon in Round 1. Expect to see Burgoyne, Birchall, Smith, McEvoy all to return.
Kaiden Brand and Jonathan O'Rourke are also available for selection for the first time after overcoming their injuries.
Kade Stewart and Teia Miles are the front runners among the young players who are putting their hands up for Round 1 after impressive performances over the two games so far.
Tom Mitchell had no problem fitting in straight away against North Melbourne finishing with a game high 26 disposals (10 contested possessions) - 5 clearances and going at 84% efficiency.
Jaeger O'Meara played much better in the second game compared to the first against Geelong looking sharp in the midfield finishing with a game high 7 clearances. A few more games in a row and he will start to get back to reaching full fitness.
It hasn't taken Roughead much time to get back into the swing of things. He's had an immediate impact on the field and doesn't look to have lost any agility and will add so much to our side throughout 2017 whether that's playing at full forward, in the midfield or floating down back at times. His presence will be lifting for the players and that could see Hawthorn go better in 2017 compared to last year. Now with two key forwards in the team other players like Rioli, Breust and Gunston will play more prominent roles now. In other words, the domino effect.
No injuries and hopefully no suspensions from this game and we will likely go in at full strength against Essendon in Round 1.
