wouldn't bother me in the slightest if collingwood fans called him aunt julie every time he went near the ball let alone boo him

that said he shouldnt be playing.

So there is a level of booing that is acceptable ? What is Harry even being booed for ? For coming out and admitting he has depression and personal problems ? Yeah the guy is a bit over the top at times , but the reason why bombers fans booed him and the reason why pies and other teams fans have booed jobe is miles apart in terms of whats acceptable.

The booing doesn't bother me either way & usually everyone knows the reason but I did wonder why Harry was copping it. I noticed it from the first time he touched the ball (watching on TV) & thought maybe something had happened behind play at the start of the game. Unusual to hear booing like that unless there is some sort of history or something has happened.

Anyway it adds to the atmosphere!!

Yes but last time it hurt jobes feelings so I think it best not to do it Tatts22.

It'd also be better for the children, mothers too watching the sport to play in a happy manner with positive crowd interaction.

I was watching on TV and every time Harry went near the ball he got booed, honestly thought I must have missed something he did? Was confusing!

And until this thread, I had no idea Jobe was being cheered as well?

But anyway, pretty sure they will have a big sook about it in the media. Maybe the AFL should take note, fans aren't happy. Finals should be interesting if they are playing, won't be a good look, hundreds of fans continually booing in the Toyota AFL Finals series.

They were actually saying Boourns.

For those who don't get it, it's a Simpsons referenc'e where everyone is booing Montgomery Burns and Waylon Smithers tells him they are actually saying "Boourns" rather than Boo

what does the word 'boourns' actually mean? i've looked through multiple dictionaries. that joke does not make much sense!

Bombers fans booing O'Brien for being depressed after his dad committed suicide and a family member was sexually abused is a thousand times worse than booing Watson for taking a banned drug. I didn't boo Watson but the Essendon hypocrisy on thiss (and Angus Monfries) is unbelievable. How soft are football fans now? Carey, Buckley and Voss got booed relentlessly just for being good players and no one cared. As long as it's not racist or slanderous who cares?

I'll say again. Essendon fans not really caring ITT.

As a mother I don't mind my children being exposed to some not so happy, negative things - it's a part of life!!!

Maybe the way everything is sanitised these days is why there are so many sooks around.

I don't really get it either - but I am assuming from the previous explanation that it's meant to sound like 'Burns'
It's a Simpsons reference...people were booing Mr Burns and he asked Smithers why...the reply was no, they;re not saying boo but cheering "Booourns"

Umm who cares..

Maybe he was playing on Stanton.

I used to Boo Rhys-Jones when he played for Sydney.

As soon as he started playing for Carlton he was my favourite player.

The players are correct, supporters are fickle.

So what. Gazillions of players have been booed for a gazillion different reasons.

Any suggestion that Essendon players should not be booed because they are suspected or admitted to cheating is the silliest thing since silly was approved as the word to use when you actually are meaning to say you are a silly of a bloke.

next big home crowd against essendon must use social media to organise a chant like 'ban the cheats'. would be a huge wtf moment for the afl and force them to act.

If that is really your thinking thankgoodness social networks are more prominent now than in 06 when Cousins and co was around

Going to be ****ing funny when the ASADA report reveals there is not enough evidence to hand out infraction notices

"But but he admitted to taking a failed ped!!! S0!!!!!" Bwahahahahahaha
