Why don't the players release their copy of the DCF forms?

They got a copy when they filled it out, and would have got a copy as part of the evidence brief.

If they did the right thing surely they have nothing to hide in releasing them...
They didn't fill out anything. The testers do. What copies?
Good old Benny won't even release the dates of when the 15 players out of the Essendon 34 were tested in the whole of 2012. What's Benny hiding?

Ok, what the testers filled out

Athletes still get a copy at the time, and a copy would have been contained in the ASADA/WADA evidence brief so that's Two copies maybe three..

ASADA can't by law release that information, it's bound by privacy. Just as the tax office can't release the dates of when I pay my taxes.

Players however can release their own information, so what do the players have to hide?

There is nothing stopping ASADA releasing information about the testing dates. They refuse to.

The players lied on their DCF apparently- so it makes sense to keep a copy of a document (if they received one) that incriminates them:rolleyes:

The still would have got a copy as part of the evidence brief from WADA for the CAS case, and maybe even ASADA for the tribunal case.

So even if they "lost" their own copy, it they were given other copies. Pretty sure their layers would have kept their ones as part of the evidence brief.

So nothing stooping them still releasing it.

Doesn't get them anywhere- all it reveals to the public is that CAS lowered the bar unconscionably.

Yes there is the Commonwealth Privacy Act. and Division 2 of the ASADA act.

If it is felt that the release of specific information such as dates when combined with other information already in the public domain to enable the identification of an individual.

For example As testing forms also include authorisation for medical research etc their information, samples may have been used for a variety of purposes thus could identify individuals if sample dates are known (a topic of discussion at present is how various de-identified medical data can be reversed engineered to identify individuals, its why the privacy act is recently changed https://www.attorneygeneral.gov.au/...ct-to-further-protect-de-identified-data.aspx).

Then there are also people like us on this forum that would use it for debate thus have the potential to damage the opinion (reputation) of the person whose information was released, thus against the spirit of the privacy act.

Public service takes a conservative approach to these matters as they should with matters of privacy.

Which is why they aren't sharing it. Well done, I think you got it.

So wouldn't that than get the section of the public on side who is going the highest sport court found you guilty, about time you acknowledge it.

Still a lot of the middle of the road people in general public, maybe not on this forum.

Although ASADA are a federal body, because of the AFL and Essendon release may also be subject to specific Vic acts, Information Privacy Act 2014, Health Record Act 2001, Mental Health Act 2014.

So, if the players still don't know what they were injected with they'll be forming a class-action against Dank, won't they?

as the great neville bartos would say: There's no cash here. Here there's no cash, alright?

players should get an absolute bucketful of cash from the efc which will hopefully ensure they report another 10 million dollar loss.

A class action against a private citizen? Er, yeah that makes no sense

If Dank had little like money they would all be interviewing all the "no fee no win " lawyers and lodging it asap. Who knows what happens in the future though when the players have finished their careers and they start thinking and contemplating what could have been.

Is Jobe having second thoughts about playing on?

"ESSENDON says Jobe Watson is battling with the mental strain of his return to the club as he considers his future in football.

The Bombers are confident Watson, who handed back his Brownlow Medal two weeks ago, will rediscover his passion in coming weeks.

But coach John Worsfold admitted Watson had a decision to make after being floored by the dramatic aftermath of handing that 2012 medal back."
