200 games in you would have to say that this is the team Longmire wanted and built.

He has even had the luxury of 3 shenanigan picks now and all have resulted in players drafted with lower draft picks than they were worth at the time of the draft.

If he was basically relying on Naismith to be it and it alone in the ruck then, yeh, well oops.

Not having a ruckman to compete at all is on him not the players having to carry the slack. Having your number 1 ruckman injured is not some wild out the blue thing that never happens. WCE managed to win the whole damn thing with arguably one of the best modern rucks on the sidelines for the best part of the season.

And for mine anyway this is his creation, playing his style, with similar skills on display as we have seen in the past.

He had his best team on the paddock pretty much from the get go sans his number 1 ruck (apparently) that I think we can all agree Sam is hardly going to rate a mention in any discussion around the best 18 rucks in the AFL at the moment.

I mean if we are going to give Horse a pass then when do we actually question him?

When we stop playing finals.

If you've already got someone with the skill set that you're looking for there is no need to go external.
If you need a hammer and you've already got one in your tool bag you don't borrow your next door neighbour's hammer, do you?
If you have your own wife you don't borrow your next door neighbour's wife, do you ?

Having our number 1 and 2 ruckmen injured (Tippet/Naismith) was tough but Sinclair has done a great job given he's a forward.

We could miss finals this year. It's not the end of the world. 21 other teams do it. In answer to your ultimate question. We can question Horse if this once in a generation team he has built finally reaches maturity but still isn't good enough. That is, a GF performance in the period 2021 to 2025.

Just finished watching that wretched game over a period of about 24 hours. I've been in the nightmare zone too long.

Hell no. What kind of sicko masochist do you think I am ?

err....don't answer that. You may have seen the pics doing the rounds of social media

On the positive it's Saturday so we can drink our sorrows

Ted everyone can vent , that’s life in general

No need to question people supporting for the club

Imo

I agree we have been spoilt but everyone with still support even if we are to bottom out for abit
Sorry Punts I missed this post.
Yeah you are 100% right & both sides of he argument do go on & on.

It's pointless though getting so upset about it, is what I am saying.
Yes we have been spoilt but we've been here in this position before & we are very spoilt because we've managed to tough our way out of it & that in itself has been at least a good trait to have from both players & coaches.
It's a very long year & if we can pinch a few against the grain then who knows what can happen.
If not, oh well, you & I can have good discussion on who we should take with pick 1,2 or 3 during the draft period.:)

Punts Old Mate I can guarantee you people in their 50's and above that have been watching and supporting from about the time they were 5 or 6 years old have most definitely not been spoiled. Support regardless of win loss is non negotiable for sure and certain but people are allowed to get upset and frustrated when they know their team should be better performed and that does not necessarily mean flags, top 4 or 25 goal scorelines week in week out but what they do get pissed off with is no attempt to change or rectify a situation, the ineptness of people to be able to improve the situation and also with people who also won't pull their head out their ass and see the club are not perfect, keep making the same repetitive excuse about our current status and consider themselves a lot more loyal than people who may question it.

ALso what sort of attitude is it if we say "well we have been up a long time now, so we may as well accept our fate at being near the bottom of the ladder"

That is like saying "well I had a great career as a Professor of Aerospace Engineering but now I will have to accept working as a toilet cleaner at a daycare centre, accept that because I was really good, I can't complain now I am earning $14 an hour"

Hope you are not suggesting Horse has been working on the sly for Boeing as the principal designer of their plane with the unfortunate tendency to fall from the sky. That plane seems to have designed out pilot flair and involvement in keeping the thing airborne. That is surely a rumour that will not fly.

You keep making the assertion that we should be better because ....we should be better.
It's circular nonsense.

2018 Crows teams were easily in the best handful of teams...in theory.
They didn't even play finals.

The idea that the difference between achieving and not-achieving rests on whether the game plan is flairy/not negative/play on at all costs is nonsense.
