Hawks will not have done it though to deliberately trigger Band 1. Hawks will have done it to get Battle across the line.

Battle is not a RFA where you might argue that they would trigger a higher band so that St Kilda would not match and force a trade.


And there are no side-deals that may have come into it like the much discussed potential "Shiel -deal" last FA period.

I think it's a situation where if you only look at the first 5 years it is 900, look at the 6 it's the 850 as reported.

And unlike many who play key defence, his disposal efficiency isn’t really high because he’s constantly taking safe chip kicks to guys who can actually kick, his DE is very high because he’s a bloody good kick, on both feet.

Hawthorn are going to love having him and Sicily back there with their penetrating 55m+ precision kicking.

No the AFL uses a secret formula to assess a departing player's worth then creates the pick out of thin air.
