In a way that pick helped us secure Ashcroft. Longer became pick 25, which became McStay which became one of the late second round picks used as points for Ashcroft.

If salary cap space was all it took to get top line players to join your club, North and St Kilda would have traded in multiple superstars by now. But we know it doesnt work like that so compensation is needed as a mechanism so ensure the big clubs arent the only ones benefiting.

? He's a ripper. Would have commanded a pick around 10 in a trade, what's so shocking about the Saints getting pick 8? Incredibly durable, can play at both ends, great hands and skills etc.
