Next two seasons will show how good Kelly is.

He should be the highest paid player in the comp if he moves teams. Expect there to be plenty of interest from Melb clubs again.

Like Carlton & St Kilda?:D

Then again, I did tell you all this last year.

Yep, Carlton, St Kilda, North.
Bombers would be interested as well.
Wouldn’t be surprised if those three went all in this time and jacked his price right up.

Would also be a great replacement for Pendles at the Pies.

Expect godfather offers from several Melb clubs next year, not just North.

Very interesting article that.

Cynic would suggest he's spending two years at GWS to try and win a flag before heading to North after all.

Well he did say he was in awe of the atmosphere / tigers supporters at the PF...maybe he would take less to join a big successful club eh?

Be a nice addition.

Only cynical North supporters would suggest that mate ;)

He does say he thought he was off to us. That was certainly our feeling too. I don't blame him for staying there to try and win a flag and avoid the North rebuild. Not like he signed a long term deal at GWS like Greene.

I'm confident he will be a North player in 2020.

Reckon there will be a few more clubs offering godfather deals this time round.
Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon should make serious plays for him and the size of these clubs will add a different factor to his decision making process.

North wouldn’t want to miss him this time round.

Yeah, but it's not about competing for money. If he wanted that he would have gotten a deal better than Greene's. He wants to don the blue and white stripes, and he's never going to have to worry about missing a house payment.

You might think you have an argument, but you don't.

Yeah, he loves North so much he turned down a monster offer from them...

Righto mate, we'll see...

Hope this call doesn't backfire on you as well

Christ, I stated Kelly was coming to North halfway through last year and the kid has now gone and mentioned publicly that this was the case and he changed his mind for a short term contract late in the piece.

The source of your massive triggering, Martin, was never once mentioned by me that he was one his way to North.

You invent a lot of things in that tiny little brain of yours.

The good thing for North fans is that by setting their sights on a player who wont reject them for 2 years rather than one, they'll only get heartbroken half as often.

and people thought they couldn't learn from their mistakes.

No. Can’t see him staying at GWS his whole career. He will come back to Melb in the next couple of years and GWS will be adequately compensated. At that time the competition for his services will truly heat up. He sounds like a considered lad and
the lure of other big clubs and significant dollars will come into play, which wasn’t there last time.

And not sure why you are worried about my argument. Just know he will be in huge demand soon. Got no skin in the game.

Lol If it had nothing to do with money then North wouldnt have to offer so much.

I don't think the size of the club will matter at all. Isn't something that affected his decision to stay.

Carlton and Essendon both very keen on him last year.

Anyway, we will just have to wait and see, I can't be stuffed spending two years arguing the toss.

He's a top 5 talent, you have to pay that much to get them.

Pretty funny the way he sees your club as, how shall I say this, something to stick it in after the pub white he waits for his real love to come along.

You're a glorified TAC Club.

He stayed to win a flag.

Imagine he would consider coming home to a big Melbourne club that was about to contend as well as big dollars.

The offer he had from North last year was only for big dollars.

Hope North get him mind you. Some on here are adamant he will be theirs and it would be heartbreaking for them to lose the hope of success that he would bring.
If they offer significantly more cash than rivals they are a good shot no doubt.

I’m just saying his decision won’t be as clear cut this time round as some north supporters seem to think.

Lol. We dont. They seem to hang around for less than outside offers most of the time.

IF it happens this will be like Ablett at the Suns.

Difference is the Suns had talented kids around Ablett.

"He loves us so much, he rejected one the biggest lifetime offers of all time to come here, but he loves us. He does damn it"

Werent you the one that said he was signed sealed delivered to North 2 days before he re-signed with the Giants. For much much less?
