Grundy needs to lift.

Grundy is a great competitor and I think he can become a gun, but he's got a long way to go. As yet, he rarely has much of a positive impact on games. He gets good numbers for a ruckman, but his disposal is terrible and his hitouts go to disadvantage as often as they go to advantage.

Does anyone harbour concerns that perhaps our training surface is not up to scratch? Don't know if done on the cheap and maybe the surface is too hard.

No evidence of this but I'd want that checked before we churn through any more medical and fitness people.

I've thought about it from time to time, but I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone complain about the surface (e.g. in the way they used to complain about Docklands).

Every time some one in the media says sometyhing unfavorable we look for hidden agendas. The reality is we are crap and we are news. It isn't the writer's fault, it is our fault ad siege mentality responses from the president are well passed use-by.

I'm looking forward to the end of season review and revamping the medical department in 2019.
What revamping of the medical department?

Funnily enough back in 2011 when all the commentators were dribbling over our success and rabbiting on about a dynasty no one complained or pointed out it was all about media sales. Any sense of criticism is resented though, the media perpetrator and their view derided, even now when much of the criticism is well warranted. Do we really think reality changes by which version of the truth we choose. I find the siege mentality particularly outdated and question whether that mentality is the best path forward.

Blah, BLah, you're either us or you're not us, maybe he is right maybe he is wrong I don't care.

Magpies need to get it right on the field this weekend, it's very easy to slam (if that's what the article did??) Collingwood right now, get it right this weekend, knock off one of the Premiership favorites and turn the narrative to one we can all accept.

It doesn’t matter if we win, lose or draw. The media will always focus on us and find a reason to have a go whether it is warranted or not. Surely their focus should have been the Bulldogs this week given a loss by 82 points and being premiers a couple of years ago.
I guess bagging the Dogs doesn’t sell papers or isn’t interesting enough to click.
Any way, we should be used to it by now

Well he does make some Good Points. What I seen this Season Pendles is not a A-Grader.

Adams and Treloar Kicking is Not Good Enough.

Though he Hates Collingwood so people take it with a Grain of Salt

The listing of A graders, B graders and so on is just based on opinion. It’s funny how these opinions change year on year based on what happened last year. Bet you Richmond wouldnt have had so many A graders last year, but do so this year because they won a flag

I agree with him except for the Pendles comment.
He's 100% right about Treloar and Turnover Taylor.
Grundy is a bit stiff to get criticism, the bloke is still only what, 23-24 yrs old? Not many ruckman that age are shouldering the ruck load for an entire club.
Hopefully the players do read the criticism and come out with fire in the belly.
Remember Swan in 2014 prior to ANZAC day when Walls said he was fat?
Came out and had like 35 possies and 4 goals.
But I'm not so sure how players have that kinda stuff....

The football media cycle is hilarious. The short disposable nature of it is hilarious.

Breakfast shows set the ‘agenda’. Then all day they reference what was said at breakfast as part of the cycle. The drive hosts again discuss it.

Sheahan has to give a comment, and it has to be discussion worthy. Pendles and Collingwood has a quiet game so a perfect option.

Bit harsh on Pendles, but in saying that Pendles never became the player i thought he would, he was around the best 3-5 mids a couple of years ago but he never took the next step to superstar, he's probably dropped out of the top dozen mids now.

Spud! Journalism at an all time low if he is the cream of the crop. Hasn't even developed his own theories been trawling social media outlets for his concepts.

1 freaking game. Give it at least a month.

And I'm as guilty as anyone. But really before you make grand pronouncements you really need a body of work. It's a new year. For all we know Hawthorn could be back and headed for top 4. Or Collingwood might actually be a bottom 4. Or it was an aberration. Simply don't know yet.

Big game this week from Pendlebury, the guy is an elite talent, he just needs a little elite talent around him.

They said Swan was done, he smashed it the next year.

fwiw - an important little block in Pendles' career now. A little older, some tough years - needs to re-discover the ol' spark & lead the midfield. I have every confidence he'll do so.
