Judd to contest suspension!!

To those indicating No Judd = No Carlton, look back to round 14 last year ;)

Carlton take on an in-form (believe it or not) Richmond on their 100th year celebration day minus Judd. Carlton won convincingly.

judd and carlton both think they're above the rules so why not challenge.

also, judd may have admitted to deliberately intending to make unnecessary head-high contact with rischitelli's face - meaning he is guilty - but carlton THE CLUB wants to challenge even though judd, who is only in it for himself, knows the truth.

I think Carlton fans should be banned from this site never mind this thread.

Will be interesting to hear exactly what there argument here is. Could have ramifications for any future hand meets head cases

Anyone know if it was a behind the play incident or not? I mean technically play had stopped...
The action was started a split second before the whistle was blown, but most of the 'suspect actions' were done post the whistle being blown.

Judd is very lucky he didn't scratch Rischitellis cornia. Just a scratch on that and the kid can't see for hours and then poses the question of infection.

Silly thing to do. Was one of the games greats in my eyes until this his second incident. I was willing to give him a chance after the first gouge on Brown but it is as plain as day this is a part of his game.

Pretty soon we'll have kids gouging out each others eyes or giving each other facials on the play ground. How are they meant to grow up and come and see games if they need a guide dog.

Happy with their decision. We generally play Carlton in Round 3 each year so assuming it stays the same next year he will miss that game.

What a fool for contesting.

Judd has been given an alibi by 44,000 Carlton supporters who will testify under oath that Chris was having a quiet night at home in Melbourne with Twiggers.

He wasn't even playing! He was being rested for next weeks match should The Blues make it through the elimination final.

He cant argue the intentional contact can he - given he said he was trying to do it.

No point contesting the low contact, and it was definitely head high contact.
Under the system, I dont know how he can contest it.

I would imagine that they would argue that while there was intent, the actual contact was so light so as to be not even deemed an offence.

At the end of the day, despite Judd's best efforts, no damage whatsoever was done and so no charge should have been laid.

Whether the tribunal buys this though.....

Very happy with this decision.

There was no Gouge, and even if he was looking for pressure points, he obviously didnt find any, so how is there sufficient force in the contact to sustain the suspension.

Well done Blues!!!!

So no one should go for a eye gouge in the past because I don't think anyone has had there eye's damaged before on the footy field from the cases to date.

He should have copped it on the chin and moved on. Sad thing is if he didn't open his mouth Sunday he would not have been even sighted.
