An absolutely astonishing decision to appeal.

Like Hawthorn realised (eventually) everything is academic now except for what was determined under the charge.

They are a million to one to downgrade any of the assessments - low impact, high and intentional. Million to one.

The only other avenue they have is to argue he didnt touch the face (the charge he is confronted with), which will get laughed at obviously.

Perplexing to say the least.

What else can he possibly argue here? An eye gouge or not has absolutely no bearing at all.

From a public relations perspective this is a very strange move.

Everyone saw him do...something. Whatever he was trying to do, there is no denying it was deliberate.

He's since told the nation what he says he was trying to do.

If somehow he gets off, I honestly think his repuation will take longer to recover than if he just serves the 2 matches.

I though it was really stupid what Judd did thinking he is a martial arts expert and admitting what he was intending to to and should have copped 2 weeks, to contest is ultra risky but GUYS facts are he barely made contact and with that said it wasn't near as bad as it looked so he might get off lucky for him barely eany contact was made.

Frankly, he shouldn't get off. What he did was idiotic and completely unnecessary and a two week penalty I thought was a fair outcome.

Who knows ? You should. But unless your dumb enough to admit it on TV i doubt you could get done.

We might see some new pressure point rules brought in, because if Judd gets off its going to be a pressure point free for all on footy grounds accross the country.

Very happy with this decision.

There was no Gouge, and even if he was looking for pressure points, he obviously didnt find any, so how is there sufficient force in the contact to sustain the suspension.

Fair enough it was a stupid thing to do and Juddy admitted it was "dumb" but nothing happened to Rischitelli, it was an attempt without any success, if Rischitelli did happen to black out then it would have warranted a suspension but NOTHING HAPPENED!!
