Jumper clash fails

People may find it an odd thing to applaud, but tonight's match (Richmond away to Brisbane) is one of those rare instances where white away shorts worn by a team which doesn't have white as an official colour actually helps a lot with the contrast between the teams.
Not as much as Richmond wearing their clash jersey as well.

VFL Brisbane vs Richmond now the Tigers are wearing yellow. Why didn't they wear yellow last night? Didn't feel like it? I can't be the only person who watched something else instead of looking for white shorts for a whole game.

Because Richmond are quite poor and can only afford one set of clash jumpers 😉

VFL has a much more stringent uniform policy.

Actually isn't the yellow Richmond's official VFL jumper? (because apparently the 2nds isn't real football so they don't want to wear the black one, despite their reserves and under 19s wearing it when they existed)

I didn't really consider it a problem last night. I mean, maybe the AFL should consider a rule that you wear your away guernsey for any away game, unless it will create a bigger clash than your primary guernsey, to stop these amateurish incidents happening, but on the whole, maroon with maroon shorts versus black with white shorts is no problem for me.

Having said that...

If the VFL considers it to be a clash, surely the AFL should take an even more cautious approach, with consideration to the TV audience and probably the match of the round in the higher level, compared to a game that probably only a few thousand people actually care about (beyond checking on a few individual performances by AFL listed players).

Yeah their clash jumper is their home jumper in the VFL

Pretty much because they are tossers.

They even list their VFL premiership in 2019 with their AFL reserves premierships when it should be listed with the VFA ones.

A tally isn't a determination of quality it's a record for a respective league the current VFL is the historic VFA not the VFL/AFL reserves and it's top competition should be treated accordingly.

It's a mark of disrespect to act the way Richmond does.

Apparently the AFL prevented the Dees from wearing their indigenous jumper tonight due to a clash.

Hopefully a good sign for the future.
From what I could see it looked mostly red. So instead they wear blue with white shorts against the dogs in blue and white. Not sure it makes much sense
