I whipped that part up pretty quickly just to make it look more complete. I must have had lmach's logo ingrained in my memory because I ended up even using the same font.

Can't get over how good that sash design is!
I'm not sure either. A main issue with making a Gold Coast logo is that it's very hard to make a sun (or star) look tough so I opted to go for a "less is more" approach. I feel like your edit makes it look a bit like a flower but it really depends on how you look at it.
I think the wide left and right points on my newer version help a bit. It makes it look more like a compass star.

I like the first one aesthetically but reckon the red/gold one works better on a jumper. Adore the roundel though, looks superb.
The yellow sash one is awesome.

My attempt at a Gold Coast re brand
Not sure about the home but like the idea of a gold/yellow home guernsey
HOME: To be worn at home games and away where there is not a clash of jumpers
CLASH: Worn away where there is a clash of jumpers
ALTERNATIVE: Worn in preseason and away against Hawthorn to prevent two light based jumpers clashing
HERITAGE: Don't agree with the word 'heritage', however a guernsey worn at one home game every season
As for the logo, I like the idea of a round logo, which could be seen as representing a sun. As many other concepts on here feauture a monogram based around a sun, after playing around with fonts I decided to take a different approach and have the monogram resemble a wave, as a nod to the gold coast being famous for its surfing, and the away and clash jumpers worn I'm the Suns' first season. Hence the letters in the monogram being uneven, and the top of the monogram looking like a wave breaking

Nice! the monogram is quite 'surfy' which I like and the hoops work well. there are a couple of changes I would make though. I'm not sold on the colour of the hoops on the clash (perhaps a light grey?) and the text on the logo is a bit imbalanced, Gold coast suns on top with Football club underneath looks better IMO.

Thanks! While playing around with fonts I decided that is pups attempt to make the monogram look like a wave, which I hope I pulled off
I will remake the clash with grey hoops and change up the logo and post it tomorrow

Honestly most designs still look a bit shit... there are inherent issues with royal and yellow and bright red and yellow...
You look at the Giants ideas and everyone churns out an improvement, or at least something we'd be happy with seeing for another 30 years. The colours are balanced with dull and bright; light and dark, and yet all Gold Coast ones seem incredibly 'local team starts up and doesn't win a game for five years despite Aker and Fev appearances.' I like the idea of using watermarks to be honest, or shades of red if we are to keep red.
Honestly the colours will never go – it would be masssssssively unprecedented to remake the club now.
